Distributed Diagnostics and Dynamic Reconfiguration Using Autonomous Agents

چکیده
Technological, economic, and cultural changes that are driving the deployment of distributed intelligent devices across a broad range of industrial, commercial, commercial, and military systems. Sensors and actuators that previously provided a single function are being replaced with smart devices that are programmable, perform multiple functions and provide realtime operating information. For example a motor speed controller that historically maintained a setpoint motor speed may now include embedded logic for local closed-loop control, dynamically alter speed in response to changing pump conditions, provide real-time diagnostics, and optimize performance [Discenzo, Rusnak et al. 2002]. The automation of increasingly complex, critical, coupled systems can place a severe demand on centralized automation systems. A framework for managing this complexity employing intelligent agents has been demonstrated for automation systems such as package handling, material processing, and water distribution. The agent infrastructure may be extended to provide for distributed collaborative diagnostics of novel faults. Following fault detection, agents then collaborate to identify and implement a loss mitigation strategy, recovery strategy,

A mathematical model for the design of distributed layout by considering production planning and system reconfiguration over multiple time periods
In this paper, we develop a new mathematical model that integrates layout configuration and production planning in the design of dynamic distributed layouts. The model incorporates a number of important manufacturing attributes such as demand fluctuation, system reconfiguration, lot splitting, work load balancing, alternative routings, machine capability and tooling requirements. In addition, t...
متن کاملA SAIWD-Based Approach for Simultaneous Reconfiguration and Optimal Siting and Sizing of Wind Turbines and DVR units in Distribution Systems
In this paper, a combination of simulated annealing (SA) and intelligent water drops (IWD) algorithm is used to solve the nonlinear/complex problem of simultaneous reconfiguration with optimal allocation (size and location) of wind turbine (WT) as a distributed generation (DG) and dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) as a distributed flexible AC transmission systems (DFACT) unit in a distribution sys...
متن کاملLayered multi agent architecture with dynamic reconfigurability
This paper presents the software system architecturr with the dynamic reconfigurability for highly autonomous systems. The proposed architecture is based on multi-agent model, which is suitable for autonomous, open and distributed systems. Since an agent is too sophisticated as the minimal component that we handle, we define a unit as a simple component of an agent. We present the advanced capa...
متن کاملAccess control in ultra-large-scale systems using a data-centric middleware
The primary characteristic of an Ultra-Large-Scale (ULS) system is ultra-large size on any related dimension. A ULS system is generally considered as a system-of-systems with heterogeneous nodes and autonomous domains. As the size of a system-of-systems grows, and interoperability demand between sub-systems is increased, achieving more scalable and dynamic access control system becomes an im...
متن کاملAutonomous dynamic reconfiguration in collaborative problem solving
This thesis is a comprehensive study of collaborative problem solving, its advantages and pitfalls, but mainly its improvement by autonomous dynamic reconfiguration. Autonomous dynamic reconfiguration deals with two common problems in collaborative problem solving – high communication effort and poor problem solving results because of restricted overview. The main idea of autonomous dynamic rec...
