چکیده

In this paper, the problem of reducing a given LTI system into a left or right invertible one is addressed and solved with the standard tools of the geometric control theory. First, it will be shown how an LTI system can be turned into a left invertible system, thus preserving key system properties like stabilizability, phase minimality, right invertibility, relative degree and infinite zero structure. Moreover, the additional invariant zeros introduced in the left invertible system thus obtained can be arbitrarily assigned in the complex plane. By duality, the scheme of a right inverter will be derived straightforwardly. Moreover, the squaring down problem will be addressed. In fact, when the left and right reduction procedures are applied together, a system with an unequal number of inputs and outputs is turned into a square and invertible system. Furthermore, as an example it will be shown how these techniques may be employed to weaken the standard assumption of left invertibility of the plant in many optimization problems. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. The Exact Solution of Min-Time Optimal Control Problem in Constrained LTI Systems: A State Transition Matrix Approach

In this paper, the min-time optimal control problem is mainly investigated in the linear time invariant (LTI) continuous-time control system with a constrained input. A high order dynamical LTI system is firstly considered for this purpose. Then the Pontryagin principle and some necessary optimality conditions have been simultaneously used to solve the optimal control problem. These optimality ...

AIOSC: Analytical Integer Word-length Optimization based on System Characteristics for Recursive Fixed-point LTI Systems

The integer word-length optimization known as range analysis (RA) of the fixed-point designs is a challenging problem in high level synthesis and optimization of linear-time-invariant (LTI) systems. The analysis has significant effects on the resource usage, accuracy and efficiency of the final implementation, as well as the optimization time. Conventional methods in recursive LTI systems suffe...

Detection filter design for LPV systems - a geometric approach

Abstract: By using the concept of parameter varying (C,A)-invariant subspace and parameter varying unobservability subspace, this paper investigates the problem of fault detection and isolation in linear parameter varying (LPV) systems. The so called detection filters approach, formulated as the fundamental problem of residual generation (FPRG) for linear time invariant (LTI) systems is extende...

Linear Parameter Varying Systems: a Geometric Theory and Applications

Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) systems appear in a form of LTI state space representations where the elements of the A(ρ), B(ρ), C(ρ) matrices depend on an unknown but at any time instant measurable vector parameter ρ ∈ P. This paper describes a geometric view of LPV systems. Geometric concepts and tools of invariant subspaces and algorithms for LPV systems affine in the parameters will be pres...

Standard LTI Feedback Optimization Setup

There are three basic concepts behind the standard feedback optimization setup: the notion of a multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) linear time-invariant (LTI) finite order system, the notion of an internally stable feedback interconnection of two MIMO LTI systems, and the notion of a system norm. In addition, there is a concept of well-posedness of the resulting optimization problem, which has to...
