چکیده

• The role of the electrical pacemaker with myocardial electrodes in the treatment of atrioventficular conduction blocks is an important one. Various observers, however, have reported a progressive increase in power needed to stimulate the heart and eventual failure of stimulation. The reason for this stimulation failure has been reported as due to increased electrical resistance from scar formation about the electrodes." This study is an attempt to identify causes of failure of myocardial stimulation.

Complete Congenital Heart Block in a Neonatal Lupus Erythematosus Associated with Pulmonary Involvement without Pacemaker Implantation: A Case Report

Background: Neonatal lupus erythematosus is an uncommon disease. Congenital complete heart block (CCHB) usually happens in neonates with maternal systemic lupus erythematosus. The most prevalent presentation of CCHBis bradycardiathatcanbediagnosed through an electrocardiogram. Case report: Here in, we present the case of a full-term male neonate with gestational age of 37 weeks and birth weigh...

Successful perinatal management of a very low birthweight infant with congenital complete atrioventricular block.

We report a very low birthweight infant with congenital complete atrioventricular block (CCAVB) who underwent delayed implantation of a permanent pacemaker without temporary pacing. The female infant was born at 30 weeks gestation and weighed 1422 g. After birth, the infant showed respiratory failure due to pleural effusion and respiratory distress syndrome at birth. The heart rate ranged betwe...

The successful treatment of end stage of heart failure associated with complete right bundle branch block with biventricular pacemaker placement.

Biventricular pacing has been used to treat patients with symptomatic heart failure, systolic left ventricular dysfunction and intraventricular conduction delays. This modality is usually reserved for the treatment of patients with a left bundle branch block pattern on electrocardiogram. We report the successful use of biventricular pacing in a patient with heart failure and a right bundle bran...

Slow ventricular tachycardia presenting with acute liver failure

OBJECTIVES Cardiac hepatopathy is an important differential diagnosis of acute liver failure. Slow ventricular tachycardia (slow VT) is a ventricular tachycardia (VT), in which heart rate is below the typical frequency of VT. We here report a case of acute liver failure in a patient with slow VT. METHODS The 64-year old male patient with history of cardiac pacemaker implantation for complete ...
