چکیده

Using measure-capacity inequalities we study new functional inequalities, namely LPoincaré inequalities Varμ(f) 1/q ≤ CP ∫ |∇f | dν and L-logarithmic Sobolev inequalities Entμ ( f )1/q ≤ CLS ∫ |∇f | dν for any q ∈ (0, 1]. As a consequence, we establish the asymptotic behavior of the solutions to the so-called weighted porous media equation ∂u ∂t = ∆u −∇ψ · ∇u for m ≥ 1, in terms of L-norms and entropies. On the Bakry-Emery criterion for linear diffusions and weighted porous media equations

The goal of this paper is to give a non-local sufficient condition for generalized Poincaré inequalities, which extends the well-known Bakry-Emery condition. Such generalized Poincaré inequalities have been introduced by W. Beckner in the gaussian case and provide, along the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck flow, the exponential decay of some generalized entropies which interpolate between the L norm and the...

Some functional inequalities in variable exponent spaces with a more generalization of uniform continuity condition

‎Some functional inequalities‎ ‎in variable exponent Lebesgue spaces are presented‎. ‎The bi-weighted modular inequality with variable exponent $p(.)$ for the Hardy operator restricted to non‎- ‎increasing function which is‎‎$$‎‎int_0^infty (frac{1}{x}int_0^x f(t)dt)^{p(x)}v(x)dxleq‎‎Cint_0^infty f(x)^{p(x)}u(x)dx‎,‎$$‎ ‎is studied‎. ‎We show that the exponent $p(.)$ for which these modular ine...

On the Performance of Different Empirical Loss Equations for Flow Through Coarse Porous Media (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this paper, the empirical equations that estimate hydraulic parameters for non-linear flow through coarse porous media are evaluated using a series of independent data collected in the laboratory. In this regard, three different relatively uniform soils ranging in size from 8.5 to 27.6 mm have been selected and three random samples drawn from each material. The physical characteristics such ...

Domain Decomposition Preconditioners for Multiscale Flows in High-Contrast Media

In this paper, we study domain decomposition preconditioners for multiscale flows in high contrast media. Our problems are motivated by porous media applications where low conductivity regions play an important role in determining flow patterns. We consider flow equations governed by elliptic equations in heterogeneous media with large contrast between high and low conductivity regions. This co...

Comparison of Binomial and Power Equations in Radial Non-Darcy Flows in Coarse Porous Media

Analysis of non-laminar flows in coarse alluvial beds has a wide range of applications in various civil engineering, oil and gas, and geology problems. Darcy equation is not valid to analyze transient and turbulent flows, so non-linear equations should be applied. Non-linear equations are classified into power and binomial equations. Binomial equation is more accurate in a wide range of velocit...
