Concurrent Reachability Games

چکیده
An open system can be modeled as a two-player game between the system and its environment. At each round of the game, player 1 (the system) and player 2 (the environment) independently and simultaneously choose moves, and the two choices determine the next state of the game. Properties of open systems can be modeled as objectives of these two-player games. For the basic objective of reachability —can player 1 force the game to a given set of target states?— there are three types of winning states, according to the degree of certainty with which player 1 can reach the target. From type-1 states, player 1 has a deterministic strategy to always reach the target. From type-2 states, player 1 has a randomized strategy to reach the target with probability 1. From type-3 states, player 1 has for every real " > 0 a randomized strategy to reach the target with probability greater than 1 ". We show that for finite state spaces, all three sets of winning states can be computed in polynomial time: type1 states in linear time, and type-2 and type-3 states in quadratic time. The algorithms to compute the three sets of winning states also enable the construction of the winning and spoiling strategies. Finally, we apply our results by introducing a temporal logic in which all three kinds of winning conditions can be specified, and which can be model checked in polynomial time. This logic, called Randomized ATL, is suitable for reasoning about randomized behavior in open (two-agent) as well as multi-agent systems. Strategy Improvement for Concurrent Safety Games
We consider concurrent games played on graphs. At every round of the game, each player simultaneously and independently selects a move; the moves jointly determine the transition to a successor state. Two basic objectives are the safety objective: “stay forever in a set F of states”, and its dual, the reachability objective, “reach a set R of states”. We present in this paper a strategy improve...
متن کاملNash Equilibria for Reachability Objectives in Multi-player Timed Games
We propose a procedure for computing Nash equilibria in multi-player timed games with reachability objectives. Our procedure is based on the construction of a finite concurrent game, and on a generic characterization of Nash equilibria in (possibly infinite) concurrent games. Along the way, we use our characterization to compute Nash equilibria in finite concurrent games.

متن کاملSemi-algebraic Tools in Stochastic Games
In this thesis we consider two-person zero-sum stochastic games with a special focus on how tools from the mathematical field of semi-algebraic geometry have been applied to these games. In the first of two parts of the thesis we introduce stochastic games and prove a complexity result about computing the value of a type of stochastic games called concurrent reachability games. We show that the...

متن کاملMonomial Strategies for Concurrent Reachability Games and Other Stochastic Games
We consider two-player zero-sum finite (but infinite-horizon) stochastic games with limiting average payoffs. We define a family of stationary strategies for Player I parameterized by ε > 0 to be monomial, if for each state k and each action j of Player I in state k except possibly one action, we have that the probability of playing j in k is given by an expression of the form cε for some non-n...
