Secure Initial Configuration of Resource Constrained Wireless Smart Objects
ثبت نشده
چکیده
A lack of universal initial configuration (or bootstrapping) of low-cost resource constrained wireless sensor networks (WSNs) has greatly limited interconnectivity. Traditional methods such as a central authority or a userentered passphrase are unacceptable on very resourceconstrained nodes. Many methods have been proposed; most of them only suitable in specific situations. An analysis of common problems in WSNs will lead to a set of requirements for a bootstrapping system. From there existing solutions will be compared to the requirements; the results of which are a selection of four main methods of bootstrapping. The methods are then expanded on to describe considerations for deploying them in a secure manner.

A First Step Towards Security for Internet of Small Things
Industrial and research organizations expect that tens of billions of daily life objects can communicate with each other in the near future for realizing a hyper connected society that is called Internet of Things (IoT). They also agree that security is one of the most important concerns to provide smart and intelligent services successfully in the IoT. The author notes in this paper that the f...

متن کاملThe Internet of Things through IPv6: An Analysis of Challenges, Solutions and Opportunities
The number of things that are connected to the Internet is growing exponentially. This has led to defining a new conception of Internet, the commonly called Internet of Things. Internet of Things ecosystems are composed, on the one hand, of so called smart objects, i.e., tiny and highly constrained physical devices in terms of memory capacity, computation capability, energy autonomy, and commun...
متن کامل6 LoWPAN : Incorporating IEEE 802 . 15 . 4 into the IP architecture
Executive Summary IP for Smart Objects seeks to extend the use of IP networking into resource-constrained devices over a wide range of low-power link technologies – IEEE 802.15.4 represents one such link. Extending IP to low-power, wireless personal area networks (LoWPANs) was once considered impractical because these networks are highly constrained and must operate unattended for multiyear lif...
