Co-Taverna: A Tool Supporting Collaborative Scientific Workflows”, Proceedings of The 7th IEEE International Conference on Services Computing (SCC)

چکیده
Scientific workflows have become an important instrument for domain scientists to synergistically integrate distributed computations and data to accelerate scientific discoveries. Existing scientific workflow tools, however, only support single scientists to compose scientific workflows in a desktop application. Nowadays, many scientific research projects are becoming increasingly larger scale, requiring that multiple research partners with different expertise collaborate from distributed organizations. Therefore, there is a critical need of a collaborative scientific workflow tool that supports domain scientists to cooperatively design, compose, annotate, execute, monitor, and manage scientific workflows over the Internet in both synchronous and asynchronous modes. This research reports the design and development of our preliminary version of a collaborative scientific workflow tool based on an open-source, single-user tool Taverna. We present our study of the role-organizationbased access control technique over collaborative scientific workflow composition. Keywords-collaborative scientific workflows; Taverna.

From June 27th till July2nd, I attended to scientific events in Anchorage/USA, namely the IEEE SCC'14 conference and the IEEE Services'14 congress. At the SCC conference, I presented a full research paper with the title " Modelling Sound Conflict Management for Virtual-Enterprise Collaboration " that extends earlier work on virtual enterprise modelling and presents an approach for conflict mode...
متن کاملA Clustering Approach to Scientific Workflow Scheduling on the Cloud with Deadline and Cost Constraints
One of the main features of High Throughput Computing systems is the availability of high power processing resources. Cloud Computing systems can offer these features through concepts like Pay-Per-Use and Quality of Service (QoS) over the Internet. Many applications in Cloud computing are represented by workflows. Quality of Service is one of the most important challenges in the context of sche...
متن کاملSimulating Taverna workflows using stochastic process algebras
Scientific workflows provide powerful middleware for scientific computing in that they represent a central abstraction in the research task, by simultaneously acting as an editable action plan, collaboration tool, and executable entity. Taverna workflows in particular have been widely accepted in the bioinformatics community, due to their flexible integration with web service analytical tools t...
