چکیده
Let G (V, E) be a graph. A subset S of V is called a dominating set of G if every vertex in V-S is adjacent to at least one vertex in S. The domination number γ (G) is the minimum cardinality taken over all such dominating sets in G. A subset S of V is said to be a complementary connected dominating set (ccd-set) if S is a dominating set and < V-S > is connected. The chromatic number χ is the minimum number of colours required to colour all the vertices such that no two adjacent vertices receive the same colour. In this paper, we characterize the r regular graphs with γcc = χ = 2 and the 3 regular graphs with γcc = χ = 3.

On Graphs with Equal Chromatic Transversal Domination and Connected Domination Numbers
Let G = (V, E) be a graph with chromatic number χ(G). A dominating set D of G is called a chromatic transversal dominating set (ctd-set) if D intersects every color class of every χ-partition of G. The minimum cardinality of a ctd-set of G is called the chromatic transversal domination number of G and is denoted by γct(G). In this paper we characterize the class of trees, unicyclic graphs and c...
متن کاملDomination in Graphs of Minimum Degree at least Two and Large Girth
We prove that for graphs of order n, minimum degree δ ≥ 2 and girth g ≥ 5 the domination number γ satisfies γ ≤ ( 1 3 + 2 3g ) n. As a corollary this implies that for cubic graphs of order n and girth g ≥ 5 the domination number γ satisfies γ ≤ ( 44 135 + 82 135g ) n which improves recent results due to Kostochka and Stodolsky (An upper bound on the domination number of n-vertex connected cubic...
متن کاملA Characterization of Cubic Graphs with Paired-Domination Number Three-Fifths Their Order
A paired-dominating set of a graph is a dominating set of vertices whose induced subgraph has a perfect matching, while the paired-domination number is the minimum cardinality of a paired-dominating set in the graph. Recently, Chen, Sun and Xing [Acta Mathematica Scientia Series A Chinese Edition 27(1) (2007), 166–170] proved that a cubic graph has paired-domination number at most three-fifths ...
متن کاملA Characterization of the Cactus Graphs with Equal Domination and Connected Domination Numbers
A cactus graph is a connected graph in which any two cycles have at most one vertex in common. Let γ(G) and γc(G) be the domination number and connected domination number of a graph G, respectively. We can see that γ(G) ≤ γc(G) for any graph G. S. Arumugam and J. Paulraj Joseph [1] have characterized trees, unicyclic graphs and cubic graphs with equal domination and connected domination numbers...
متن کاملSome results on incidence coloring, star arboricity and domination number
Two inequalities are established connecting the graph invariants of incidence chromatic number, star arboricity and domination number. Using these, upper and lower bounds are deduced for the incidence chromatic number of a graph and further reductions are made to the upper bound for a planar graph. It is shown that cubic graphs with orders not divisible by four are not 4-incidence colorable. Sh...
