On Reflection of Stationary Sets in Pκλ

چکیده
Let κ be an inaccessible cardinal, and let E0 = {x ∈ Pκκ : cf λx = cf κx} and E1 = {x ∈ Pκκ : κx is regular and λx = κx }. It is consistent that the set E1 is stationary and that every stationary subset of E0 reflects at almost every a ∈ E1.

Nonreflecting Stationary Sets in Pκλ
Let κ be a regular uncountable cardinal and λ ≥ κ. The principle of stationary reflection for Pκλ has been successful in settling problems of infinite combinatorics in the case κ = ω1. For a greater κ the principle is known to fail at some λ. This note shows that it fails at every λ if κ is the successor of a regular uncountable cardinal or κ is countably closed.
متن کاملOn preservation and reflection
We study the preservation under < κ-closed forcing extensions and the reflection of stationary subsets of Pκλ in the case when λ is a singular cardinal with cf(λ) < κ. In particular we discuss those under GCH.
متن کاملNowhere Precipitousness of the Non - Stationary Ideal Over
We prove that if λ is a strong limit singular cardinal and κ a regular uncountable cardinal < λ, then NSκλ, the non-stationary ideal over Pκλ, is nowhere precipitous. We also show that under the same hypothesis every stationary subset of Pκλ can be partitioned into λ disjoint stationary sets.
متن کاملGuessing Clubs in the Generalized Club Filter
We present principles for guessing clubs in the generalized club filter on Pκλ. These principles are shown to be weaker than classical diamond principles but often serve as sufficient substitutes. One application is a new construction of a λ-Suslin-tree using assumptions different from previous constructions. The other application partly solves open problems regarding the cofinality of reflecti...
متن کاملFat sets and saturated ideals
We strengthen a theorem of Gitik and Shelah [6] by showing that if κ is either weakly inaccessible or the successor of a singular cardinal and S is a stationary subset of κ such that NSκ S is saturated then κ \S is fat. Using this theorem we derive some results about the existence of fat stationary sets. We then strengthen some results due to Baumgartner and Taylor [2], showing in particular th...
