چکیده

Carrier phase measurements are used for all high accuracy static GPS positioning applications. It is well known that there are two important aspects to the optimal processing of GPS measurements: the definition of the functional model, and the definition of the associated stochastic model. In most cases the functional model is sufficiently well known, while the definition of the stochastic model still remains a challenging research topic. In this paper, a new stochastic modelling procedure is developed and employed in the processing of GPS data for static positioning applications. This procedure takes into account the heteroscedastic, spaceand time-correlated error structure of the GPS measurements. To demonstrate its performance, both simulated and real data sets for short to medium length baselines have been analysed. The results indicate that the accuracy of GPS positioning results can be improved to the millimetre level.

Stochastic Assessment of GPS Carrier Phase Measurements for Precise Static Relative Positioning

Global Positioning System (GPS) carrier phase measurements are used in all precise static relative positioning applications. The GPS carrier phase measurements are generally processed using the least-squares method, for which both functional and stochastic models need to be carefully defined. Whilst the functional model for precise GPS positioning is well documented in the literature, realistic...

Improving the Accuracy of Static GPS Positioning with a New Stochastic Modelling Procedure

For high precision static GPS positioning applications, carrier phase measurements have to be processed. It is well known that there are two important aspects to the optimal processing of GPS measurements: the definition of the functional model, and the associated stochastic model. These two models must be correctly defined in order to achieve high reliability in the positioning results. The fu...

Modelling residual systematic errors in GPS positioning: Methodologies and comparative studies

Since its introduction to civilian users in the early 1980's, the Global Positioning System (GPS) has been playing an increasingly important role in high precision surveying and geodetic applications. Like traditional geodetic network adjustment, data processing for precise GPS static positioning is invariably performed using the least squares method. To employ the least squares method for GPS ...

Optimal Recursive Least-Squares Filtering of GPS Pseudorange Measurements

Code pseudorange measurement noise is one of the major error sources in Precise Point Positioning. A recursive least-squares solution with proper functional and stochastic modelling would help to exploit in addition the ultra high precision of the carrier phase measurement. Analyses of different methods, including phase smoothed, phase connected and phase adjusted pseudorange algorithm, will sh...

An Integer Ambiguity Resolution Procedure for GPS/Pseudolite/INS Integration

In order to achieve a precise positioning solution from GPS, the carrier phase measurements with correctly resolved integer ambiguities must be used. Based on the integration of GPS with pseudolites and Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), this paper proposes an effective procedure for single-frequency carrier phase integer ambiguity resolution. With the inclusion of pseudolites and INS measureme...
