چکیده
This memo provides information for the Internet community. It does not specify an Internet standard of any kind. Distribution of this memo is unlimited. IESG Note The IESG thanks RSA Laboratories for transferring change control to the IETF. Enhancements to this specification that preserve backward compatibility are expected in an upcoming IETF standards track document. Abstract This document represents a republication of PKCS #8 v1.2 from RSA Laboratories' Public Key Cryptography Standard (PKCS) series. Change control is transferred to the IETF. The body of this document, except for the security considerations section, is taken directly from the PKCS #8 v1.2 specification. This document describes a syntax for private-key information.

An Overview of the PKCS Standards
This note gives an overview of the PKCS family of standards for public-key cryptography. These standards cover RSA encryption, Diffie-Hellman key agreement, password-based encryption, extended-certificate syntax, cryptographic message syntax, private-key information syntax, and certification request syntax, as well as selected attributes. The note gives the motivation for the standards and disc...
متن کاملPublic Key Cryptography Standards: PKCS
Cryptographic standards serve two important goals: making different implementations interoperable and avoiding various known pitfalls in commonly used schemes. This chapter discusses Public-Key Cryptography Standards (PKCS) which have significant impact on the use of public key cryptography in practice. PKCS standards are a set of standards, called PKCS #1 through #15. These standards cover RSA...

This document describes a general syntax for data that may have cryptography applied to it, such as digital signatures and digital envelopes. The syntax admits recursion, so that, for example, one envelope can be nested inside another, or one party can sign some previously enveloped digital data. It also allows arbitrary attributes, such as signing time, to be authenticated along with the conte...
متن کاملPKCS # 1 : RSA Encryption Standard
This standard describes a method for encrypting data using the RSA public-key cryp-tosystem [1]. Its intended use is in the construction of digital signatures and digital envelopes , as described in PKCS #7 [2]: • For digital signatures, the content to be signed is first reduced to a message digest with a message-digest algorithm (such as MD5 [3]), and then an octet string containing the messag...
متن کاملPKCS # 8 : Private - Key Information Syntax Standard
This standard describes a syntax for private-key information. Private-key information includes a private key for some public-key cryptosystem and a set of attributes. The standard also describes a syntax for encrypted private keys. A password-based encryption algorithm (e.g., one of those described in PKCS #5 [1]) could be used to encrypt the private-key information. The intention of including ...
