LPAD-based Fall Risk Assessment
نویسندگان
چکیده
About 30% of persons over 65 are subject to at least one fall during a year. A number of published studies identify statistical relations between risk factors and the probability of fall in terms of odds ratios. In this paper we present a tool based on the representation of risk factors as odds ratios. Such representation is exploited to automatically build a computational logic probabilistic program, that in turn computes the fall risk of the subject given the presence/absence of risk factors in his/her status.

LPAD-based fall risk assessment from odds ratios
About 30% of persons over 65 are subject to at least one fall during a year. A number of published studies identify statistical relations between risk factors and the probability of fall in terms of odds ratios. However such information has been exploited only partially to build fall risk assessment tools. In this paper we introduce a tool based on the representation of risk factors as odds rat...
متن کاملAssessment of desertification hazard, risk and development of management plans
About 80 percent of Iran is arid and semi-arid and about 35 percent of this area is susceptible to desertification hazard. Therefore desertification assessment and identification of the most important criteria for the assessment of risk and a basis for development of management plans is essential. This research was conducted in the semi-arid region of Agh-Band in the Golestan province, Iran wit...
متن کاملCommunity Detection Using Robust Label Propagation Algorithm
Because there is so much randomness, the robustness of label propagation algorithm (LPA) is severely hampered. To reduce the randomness, a label propagation algorithm based on degree (LPAD) is proposed. Only the node with extreme degree is labeled initially, and the label is updated according to the sum degree of its neighbors during iteration. The results show that the randomness of LPAD is re...
متن کاملDevelopment of a fall-risk self-assessment for community-dwelling seniors.
OBJECTIVE To determine seniors' beliefs about falls and design a fall-risk self-assessment and educational materials to promote early identification of evidence-based fall risks and encourage prevention behaviors. METHODS Focus groups with community-dwelling seniors, conducted in two phases to identify perceptions about fall risks and risk reduction and to assess face validity of the fall-ris...
متن کاملSLGAD Resolution for Inference on Logic Programs with Annotated Disjunctions
Logic Programs with Annotated Disjunctions (LPADs) allow to express probabilistic information in logic programming. The semantics of an LPAD is given in terms of the well-founded models of the normal logic programs obtained by selecting one disjunct from each ground LPAD clause. Inference on LPADs can be performed using either the system Ailog2, that was developed for the Independent Choice Log...
