Compensation of Heart Rate Variation during Noninvasive Identification of Repolarization Changes
نویسندگان
چکیده
Local repolarization changes in the myocardium can be noninvasively identified by an inverse solution using multichannel measurements of ECG potentials and QT integral maps in situation with and without changed repolarization. In this study, possible error of the inverse solution due to heart rate changes between the two measurements was analyzed on a model. Minimization of the error by compensation of QT interval changes was proposed. Four commonly used formulas for prediction of QT intervals from heart rates were compared on real measured data.

Background Anthracyclines are important components of many chemotherapeutic protocols. The present study aimed to evaluate the repolarization changes in electrocardiography (ECG) which may predict drug induced arrhythmia. Materials and Methods In this cross-sectional study, the recorded ECGs were assessed for QT dispersion (QTd), QT corrected dispersion (QTcd), T peak to Tend dispersion (TPe...

BACKGROUND Cardiac memory refers to the observation that altered cardiac electrical activation results in repolarization changes that persist after the restoration of a normal activation pattern. Animal studies, however, have yielded disparate conclusions, both regarding the spatial pattern of repolarization changes in cardiac memory and the underlying mechanisms. The present study was undertak...
متن کاملImaging dispersion of myocardial repolarization, II: noninvasive reconstruction of epicardial measures.
BACKGROUND Dispersion of myocardial repolarization supports the development and maintenance of life-threatening arrhythmias. Current noninvasive approaches for detecting substrates with increased dispersion based on ECG measures (eg, QT dispersion) have shown limited success and inconsistencies. The companion article shows that, in contrast, epicardial potentials and derived measures reflect lo...

متن کاملCardiac repolarization: insights from mathematical modeling and electrocardiographic imaging (ECGI).
Cardiac repolarization is a complex rate dependent process. At the cellular level, it depends on a delicate dynamic balance of ion channel currents. At the heart level, it is spatially heterogeneous, leading to spatial gradients of potential and excitability. This article provides insights into the molecular mechanisms of the delayed rectifiers I(Kr) (rapid) and I(Ks) (slow) that underlie effec...
