چکیده

The aim of this work is to identify generic (multi-patient) models of the human Central Nervous System (CNS) control by means of the Fuzzy Inductive Reasoning (FIR) methodology. Previous works on this direction showed that FIR approach was able to capture in a reliable way the dynamic behavior of the CNS control for 5 diierent patients. For each one of them a fuzzy inductive model was identiied. The errors obtained in the validation process were lower than 1%. From the medical perspective, it is very useful to have an available generic model of the CNS control that represents a speciic class of patients. In this paper, two diierent approaches were used that allowed us to obtain a fully generic model and a generic structure model. These models are compared from both the prediction accuracy and the generalization power point of view.

Modeling and Simulation of the Central Nervous System Control with Generic Fuzzy Models

The analysis of the human cardiovascular system by means of modeling and simulation methodologies is of relevance from a medical point of view because it allows doctors to acquire a better understanding of cardiovascular physiology, offer more accurate diagnostics, and select better suited therapies. The cardiovascular system is composed of the hemodynamical system and the central nervous syste...

PDC Control of Time Delay Fuzzy T-S modeled HIV-1 System through Drug Dosage

This paper proposes a Time Delay nonlinear dynamic model of HIV-1 (Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1), introducing the drug consumption efficiencies as the controlling input for the model. The paper also represents the fuzzy T-S representation and the corresponding Fuzzy T-S controller. The controller parameters are tuned using LMIs (Linear Matrix Inequalities). The main focus is on the stabi...

Ionotropic Glutamate Receptors and their Role in Neurological Diseases

Glutamate is extensively and relatively uniformly distributed in the central nervous system (CNS) and its effects mediated by two distinct groups of receptors including Ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors. Concentration of glutamate in the nervous system is much higher than in other tissues. Glutamate receptors play an important role in synaptic transmission, neural plasticity and n...

Central and Metabolic Effects of High Fructose Consumption: Evidence from Animal and Human Studies

Fructose consumption has increased dramatically in the last 40 years, and its role in the pathogenesis of the metabolic syndrome has been implicated by many studies. It is most often encountered in the diet as sucrose (glucose and fructose) or high-fructose corn syrup (55% fructose). At high levels, dietary exposure to fructose triggers a series of metabolic changes originating in the liver, le...

Model-based Approach for Multi-sensor Fault Identification in Power Plant Gas Turbines

In this paper, ‎the multi-sensor fault diagnosis in the exhaust temperature sensors of a V94.2 heavy duty gas turbine is presented‎. ‎A Laguerre network-based fuzzy modeling approach is presented to predict the output temperature of the gas turbine for sensor fault diagnosis‎. Due to the nonlinear dynamics of the gas turbine, in these models the Laguerre filter parts are related to the linear d...
