Information Rate of Some Classes of Non-regular Languages: An Automata-Theoretic Approach - (Extended Abstract)

چکیده
We show that the information rate of the language accepted by a reversalbounded deterministic counter machine is computable. For the nondeterministic case, we provide computable upper bounds. For the class of languages accepted by multi-tape deterministic finite automata, the information rate is computable as well.

Multidimensional fuzzy finite tree automata
This paper introduces the notion of multidimensional fuzzy finite tree automata (MFFTA) and investigates its closure properties from the area of automata and language theory. MFFTA are a superclass of fuzzy tree automata whose behavior is generalized to adapt to multidimensional fuzzy sets. An MFFTA recognizes a multidimensional fuzzy tree language which is a regular tree language so that for e...
متن کاملAlternating Regular Tree Grammars in the Framework of Lattice-Valued Logic
In this paper, two different ways of introducing alternation for lattice-valued (referred to as {L}valued) regular tree grammars and {L}valued top-down tree automata are compared. One is the way which defines the alternating regular tree grammar, i.e., alternation is governed by the non-terminals of the grammar and the other is the way which combines state with alternation. The first way is ta...
متن کاملOn Varieties of Automata Enriched with an Algebraic Structure (Extended Abstract)
Eilenberg correspondence, based on the concept of syntactic monoids, relates varieties of regular languages with pseudovarieties of finite monoids. Various modifications of this correspondence related more general classes of regular languages with classes of more complex algebraic objects. Such generalized varieties also have natural counterparts formed by classes of finite automata equipped wi...
متن کاملBeyond $\omega$BS-regular Languages: $\omega$T-regular Expressions and Counter-Check Automata
In the last years, various extensions of ω-regular languages have been proposed in the literature, including ωB-regular (ω-regular languages extended with boundedness), ωS-regular (ω-regular languages extended with strict unboundedness), and ωBS-regular languages (the combination of ωBand ωS-regular ones). While the first two classes satisfy a generalized closure property, namely, the complemen...
متن کاملTwo Size Measures for Timed Languages
Quantitative properties of timed regular languages, such as information content (growth rate, entropy) are explored. The approach suggested by the same authors is extended to languages of timed automata with punctual (equalities) and non-punctual (non-equalities) transition guards. Two size measures for such languages are identified: mean dimension and volumetric entropy. The former is the line...
