Compact Distributed RLC Interconnect Models—Part II: Coupled Line Transient Expressions and Peak Crosstalk in Multilevel Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
Novel compact expressions that describe the transient response of high-speed resistance, inductance, and capacitance ( ) coupled interconnects are rigorously derived. These new distributed models reveal that peak crosstalk voltage is over 60% larger for 3 GHz high-speed interconnects than predicted by current distributed models. Simplified forms of the compact models enable physical insight and accurate estimation of peak crosstalk voltage between two and three distributed interconnects.

متن کاملSignal Transient and Crosstalk Model of Capacitively and Inductively Coupled VLSI Interconnect Lines
Analytical compact form models for the signal transients and crosstalk noise of inductive-effectprominent multi-coupled RLC lines are developed. Capacitive and inductive coupling effects are investigated and formulated in terms of the equivalent transmission line model and transmission line parameters for fundamental modes. The signal transients and crosstalk noise expressions of two coupled li...

This work proposes an accurate crosstalk noise estimation method in the presence of multiple RLC lines for the use in design automation tools. This method correctly models the loading effects of non switching aggressors and aggressor tree branches using resistive shielding effect and realistic exponential input waveforms. Noise peak and width expressions have been derived. The results obtained ...
متن کاملComprehensive Evaluation of Crosstalk and Delay Profiles in VLSI Interconnect Structures with Partially Coupled Lines
In this paper, we present a methodology to explore and evaluate the crosstalk noise and the profile of its variations, and the delay of interconnects through investigation of two groups of interconnect structures in nano scale VLSI circuits. The interconnect structures in the first group are considered to be partially coupled identical lines. In this case, by choosing proper values for differen...
متن کاملAnalytical Modeling of Crosstalk Noise and Delay for High Speed On-chip Global Rlc Vlsi Interconnects
With the advancement of high frequency in the VLSI technology, the modeling of the interconnections is much important as the performance of the electronics systems is limited by interconnect related failure modes such as coupled noise and delay. Exact estimation of on-chip signal delay through RC tree network is difficult. Inductance causes noise in the signal waveforms, which can adversely aff...
