چکیده
PlXDOSO: TO assess the possible role Of experimental uveitogenic antigens (S-Ag, IRPB and recoverin) in human uveitis. Methods : Patients suffering from non-infectious bilateral UVeitiS and from the Ocular type of Behcet's disease were included in this study. Patients’ lymphocytes were tested for their possible in vitro anamnestic immune ~~SpClllS~ (specific blast transformation) to S-Ag, IRBP ;;i recoverin. The tests were carried out recorded in a masked manner. Results: Lymphocytes obtained from patients showed an unexpectedly low incidence of IXSpOtlSe towards SAg and IRBP. This .low incidence of specific response was only slightly higher than that observed for the group of healthy volunteers included as controls. To recoverin, there was no specific response of either the patients’ lymphocytes or those of healthy controls. conclusions: These data may be interpreted to indicate: antigens (52; The experimental uveitogenic IRBP and recoverin) may role in the uveitis observed in humans. Play a However, the sensitized lymphocytes “home” to the eye and therefore are not detected in the circulation. b) The experimental uveitogenic antigens known to date do not play a major role in the uveitis as observed in humans.

[Toxoplasma uveitis in a patient with ankylosing spondylitis].
In this paper, a posterior uveitis case was reported in a patient who was being followed and under treatment for Ankylosing Spondylitis. Toxoplasma antibodies were investigated and anti-toxoplasma IgG was positive. Systematic treatment (Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim and Clindamycin) was started. Despite medical treatment, reduction in visual acuity and development of dense membranous condensati...
متن کاملA retrospective review of oral low-dose sirolimus (rapamycin) for the treatment of active uveitis
PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to elicit the role of oral low-dose sirolimus as a corticosteriod-sparing agent for active uveitis. METHODS A retrospective, interventional case series was performed by reviewing the clinical records of all patients treated with oral, low-dose sirolimus (1-4 mg daily) for severe uveitis. Data reviewed included symptomatic improvement, Snellen best-correcte...
متن کاملSCIENTIFIC CORRESPONDENCE Iris nodules associated with infectious uveitis
Background/aim: Iris nodules are an uncommon clinical sign in uveitis. The diseases most commonly associated with iris nodules and uveitis include sarcoidosis, VogtKoyanagi-Harada syndrome, multiple sclerosis, Fuchs’ heterochromic iridocyclitis, and metastatic infection. While many of these diseases may be appropriately treated with immunosuppressive medication, the management of infectious uve...

PURPOSE To describe our experience in treating recalcitrant and severe cases of noninfectious posterior uveitis with the 0.7-mg dexamethasone intravitreal implant as adjunctive anti-inflammatory treatment. PROCEDURES Retrospective study. Twelve patients (8 females; 4 males; 14 affected eyes, 15 implants) with severe recalcitrant uveitis were treated. Patients had an inadequate control of uvei...
