چکیده
We investigate the temperature dependence of the instanton content of gluon fields and their contribution to quark correlation using quenched lattice QCD and the cooling method. We found a suppression of the topological susceptibility at finite temperature, agreeing with the PCAC expectation at low temperature and enhanced suppression for temperatures at and above the deconfinement transition. For temperatures up to about 334 MeV, the topo-logical charge correlation agrees well with a single instanton profile, though the size parameter seems to change across the phase transition. The screening wave functions for the pion and the rho become slightly more compact at higher temperatures. Lattice cooling shows no contribution from the in-stantons to the screening wave functions at temperatures above the phase transition.

We investigate the temperature dependence of the instanton contents of gluon fields, using unquenched lattice QCD and the cooling method. The instanton size parameter deduced from the correlation function decreases from 0.44fm below the phase-transition temperature T c (≈ 150MeV) to 0.33fm at 1.3 T c. The instanton charge distribution is Poissonian above T c , but it deviates from the convolute...

The double-dipole strength distribution in 40 Ca is calculated microscopically within a model space of 1p1h-and 2p2h excitations. Anharmonic effects in the centroid energies of the 0 +-and 2 + components are found to be small, in agreement with experimental observation. Firm conclusions about the spreading width cannot be drawn, as yet, due to computational limitations in the number of 2p2h sta...

This quantity is a useful indicator of ...

We study fragmentation of small atomistic clusters via molecular dynamics. We calculate the time scales related to fragment formation and emission. We also show that some degree of thermalization is achieved during the expansion process, which allows the determination of a local temperature. In this way we can calculate the break-up temperature as a function of excita-tion energy, i.e. the frag...

We investigate the Equation of State (EOS) of classical systems having 300 and 512 particles confined in a box with periodic boundary conditions. We show that such a system, independently on the number of particles investigated , has a critical density of about 1/3 the ground state density and a critical temperature of about 2.5 M eV. The mass distribution at the critical point exhibits a power...
