چکیده
We propose a model of feedback control in cortico-basal ganglia loop, and try to give an explanation for the phenomenon of utterance movement dysfunction. We conclude that repetition of a word utterance may be caused by the disfunction of feedback control and task-switching in basal ganglia. Keywords— Cortico-Basal Ganglia loop, dysfunction of utterance movement, task-switching Basal Ganglia Motor area Prefrontal area etc. x

Stochastic control system of basal ganglia and relation with stuttering
In resent years, it is said that the basal ganglia has a feedback control function for motion generation. Some authors suggested that the feedback control function of the basal ganglia has something to do with language dysfunction, especially dysfunction of utterance motion like Gilles de la Tourette syndrome or stuttering. But we don’t know the concrete mechanism of the relation. We have to kn...
متن کاملSomatotopic Organization of the Primate Basal Ganglia
Somatotopic organization is a fundamental and key concept to understand how the cortico-basal ganglia loop works. It is also indispensable knowledge to perform stereotaxic surgery for movement disorders. Here I would like to describe the somatotopic organization of the basal ganglia, which consist of the striatum, subthalamic nucleus, globus pallidus, and substantia nigra. Projections from moto...
متن کاملComputational approach to stuttering
Though many causes have been considered from mental or anatomical viewpoint, the mechanism of stuttering is not known yet. One candidate for the stuttering occurrence is a dysfunction of basal ganglia. However the detailed relation between the basal ganglia dysfunction and the stuttering is not understood. In this study, based on anatomical, physiological and clinical evidences, we propose a fu...
متن کاملStriatal cholinergic interneurons and cortico-striatal synaptic plasticity in health and disease.
Basal ganglia disorders such as Parkinson's disease, dystonia, and Huntington's disease are characterized by a dysregulation of the basal ganglia neuromodulators (dopamine, acetylcholine, and others), which impacts cortico-striatal transmission. Basal ganglia disorders are often associated with an imbalance between the midbrain dopaminergic and striatal cholinergic systems. In contrast to the e...
متن کاملElectrophysiological Evidences of Organization of Cortical Motor Information in the Basal Ganglia
During the last two decades, the many developments in the treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson disease and dystonia have enhanced our understanding on organization of the basal ganglia, and this knowledge has led to other advances in the field. According to many electrophysiological and anatomical findings, it is considered that motor information from different cortical areas is pr...
