99mTc-MIBI Washout Rate to Evaluate the Effects of Steroid Therapy in Cardiac Sarcoidosis
Objective: We sought to determine the usefulness of the 99mTc-MIBI (MIBI) washout rate for the evaluation of steroid therapy in cardiac sarcoidosis (CS). Methods: Eleven CS patients underwent MIBI myocardial SPECT both before and 6 months after initiating steroid therapy. The washout rate (WOR) of MIBI was calculated using early and delayed polar map images. The washout score (WOS) of MIBI was ...
متن کاملPost partum presentation of hypercalcaemic sarcoidosis.
A number of corticosteroid responsive diseases have been shown to undergo exacerbation in the puerperium. The presentation of a woman 8 weeks after delivery with severe hypercalcaemia, a highly steroid sensitive feature of sarcoidosis, adds to the evidence that sarcoidosis can also be numbered amongst such diseases with relapse in the puerperium.

INTRODUCTION Chronic relapsing inflammatory optic neuropathy is a recently described form of recurrent isolated subacute optic neuropathy. The condition is highly responsive to systemic steroid treatment and prone to relapse on steroid withdrawal. A complete work up for demyelination, autoimmune disease and sarcoidosis must be made before considering chronic relapsing inflammatory optic neuropa...

متن کاملSteroid Responsive Mononeuritis Multiplex in the Cronkhite–Canada Syndrome
The Cronkhite-Canada syndrome (CCS) is a rare disorder of unknown origin characterized by generalized gastrointestinal polyposis, alopecia, hyperpigmentation, and onychodystrophy. We report a case of CCS with concomitant presentation of mononeuritis multiplex. The electrophysiological findings and steroid responsiveness suggests presence of an autoimmune mechanism.
