Multiple-View Structure and Motion From Line Correspondences

چکیده
We address the problem of camera motion and structure reconstruction from line correspondences across multiple views, from initialization to final bundle adjustment. One of the main difficulties when dealing with line features is their algebraic representation. First, we consider the triangulation problem. Based on Plücker coordinates to represent the lines, we propose a maximum likelihood algorithm, relying on linearising the Plücker constraint, and on a Plücker correction procedure to compute the closest Plücker coordinates to a given 6-vector. Second, we consider the bundle adjustment problem. Previous overparameterizations of 3D lines induce gauge freedoms and/or internal consistency constraints. We propose the orthonormal representation, which allows handy nonlinear optimization of 3D lines using the minimum 4 parameters, within an unconstrained non-linear optimizer. We compare our algorithms to existing ones on simulated and real data.

Lines in One Orthographic and Two Perspective Views
In this paper we introduce a linear algorithm to recover the Euclidean motion between an orthographic and two perspective cameras from straight line correspondences filling the gap in the analysis of motion estimation from line correspondences for various projection models. The general relationship between lines in three views is described by the trifocal tensor [2]. Euclidean structure from mo...
متن کاملClosed Form Solution to the Structure from Motion Problem from Line Correspondences
A theory is presented for the computation of three dimensional motion and structure from dynamic imagery, using only line correspondences. The traditional approach of corresponding microfeatures (interesting points-highlights, corners, high curvature points, etc.) is reviewed and its shortcomings are discussed. Then, a theory is presented that describes a closed form solution to the motion and ...
متن کاملMotion and structure estimation using long sequence motion models
This paper presents several algorithms for estimating motion and structure parameters from long monocular image sequences by using the most apporpriate of a set of long sequence motion models. We first present a new two-view motion algorithm and then extend it to long sequence motion analysis. The two-view motion algorithm generally requires six pairs of point correspondences to give a unique s...

This paper addresses the problem of computing three-dimensional structure and motion from an unknown rigid con guration of points and lines viewed by an aÆne projection model. An algebraic structure, analogous to the trilinear tensor for three perspective cameras, is de ned for con gurations of three centered aÆne cameras. This centered aÆne trifocal tensor contains 12 non-zero coeÆcients and i...

|This paper presents a linear algorithm for recovering 3D a ne shape and motion from line correspondences with uncalibrated a ne cameras. The algorithm requires a minimum of seven line correspondences over three views. The key idea is the introduction of a one-dimensional projective camera. This converts 3D a ne reconstruction of \line directions" into 2D projective reconstruction of \points". ...
