چکیده

The significant characteristics of the electromagnetic environment in an ideal reverberation chamber are uniformity, isotropy and random polarization. Stirrer performance in a reverberation chamber is crucial to these characteristics. In this paper, based on the statistical theory, the uncertainty due to the number of independent samples is given. The key mechanism that causes the fields in a reverberation chamber to become uniformly random by rotation of stirrers, and the advantages of using two stirrers over one stirrer are analysed. The E-fields inside a large reverberation chamber with two stirrers and with one stirrer respectively are simulated using the Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) technique. By comparing the effects of two stirrers with that of one stirrer on the uniformity and number of independent samples, it is found that two stirrers produce a better performance in a large reverberation chamber than one stirrer with a relatively larger size.

Design and Construction of a Small Reverberation Chamber

This paper describes the design of a small reverberation chamber. The lower usable frequency of the reverberation chamber designed in this paper is 2.3 GHz. The upper usable frequency depends on the conductivity of the walls and it is at least 18 GHz. The introduction gives basic information and usage of the reverberation chamber, while the theory is explained in the next section. Unlike other ...

Use of Generalized Extreme Value distribution to model the maximums of the field inside a reverberation chamber

The Generalized Extreme Value (GEV) distribution is used to model the electric field inside a Reverberation Chamber (RC). GEV distribution is particularly indicated for this application where the maximums of the field are studied, as it specifies the theoretical distribution of the maximums according to the Fisher-Tippett theorem. In a first part of this paper we present the Fisher-Tippett theo...

Reverberation Chamber Low Frequency Field Uniformity Improvement with Conducting Pyramidal Structures

Reverberation chambers are commonly used in industry for measuring electromagnetic interference because they are cost-effective. We attempt to stir modes more evenly inside reverberation chambers by introducing passive field uniformity enhancement (PFUE) structures. These structures augment the existing rotating stirrers. Measured results for a 2.445 Х 2.475 Х 3.72 m reverberation chamber are p...

Wireless channel characterization of the reverberation chamber at NIST

This study is to show that a reverberation chamber can be used as a controlled facility for evaluating over-the-air performance of wireless devices in a Rayleigh and Rician fading environment. A reverberation chamber is a metallic cavity that is stirred to emulate a Rayleigh fading environment. Frequency domain techniques have been used to study and characterize the wireless channel in the cham...

تحلیل آکوستیکی یک اتاق نیمه صامت با چینش متقاطع جاذب الیافی مکعب مستطیل

Introduction: The previous studies have used fibrous absorbents usually in the form of cone-shaped wedges for making anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers which their design and construction have been costly and difficult. The present study aimed to design a semi-anechoic chamber, using rectangular fibrous absorbents and also perform acoustic analysis for it. . Material and Method: In the presen...
