On Non-Conservative Plan Modification

چکیده

The problem of minimally modifying a plan in response to changes in the specification of the planning problem has already been investigated in the literature. In this paper we consider the problem of non-minimal modification of plans from a computational point of view. We prove that while the general problem is intractable (that is, replanning from scratch is equally hard), there are scenarios in which the new plan can be built more efficiently (in polynomial time).

A Theory of Plan Modification

We present a theory of plan modification applicable to hierarchical no&ear planning. Our theory utilizes the validation structure of the stored plans to yield a flexible and conservative plan modification framework The validation structure, which constitutes a hierarchical explanation of correctness of the plan with respect to the planner’s own knowledge of the domain, is annotated on the plan ...

Conservative management of asymptomatic hepatic hydatid cyst in pregnancy: our experience in seven patients

Introduction: To present our experience about the safety of conservative management in asymptomatic and non-complicated hepatic hydatid cyst in pregnancy.   Methods: Seven pregnant patients with hepatic hydatid cysts as an incidental finding in routine obstetrical ultrasonography were referred to our center during 2001 to 2008. Three patients were visited in the second and the rest i...

Analytical Solutions for Spatially Variable Transport-Dispersion of Non-Conservative Pollutants

Analytical solutions have been obtained for both conservative and non-conservative forms of one-dimensional transport and transport-dispersion equations applicable for pollution as a result of a non-conservative pollutant-disposal in an open channel with linear spatially varying transport velocity and nonlinear spatially varying dispersion coefficient on account of a steady unpolluted lateral i...

Evidence Based Conservative Management of Patello-femoral Syndrome

Background:   Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) is defined as pain surrounding the patella when sitting with bent knees for prolonged periods of time or when performing activities like ascending or descending stairs, squatting or   athletic activities. Patella dislocation is not included in PFPS.     Purpose:   This review analyzes the evidence based conservative management of PFPS.   Methods...

Plan Modification versus Plan Generation: A Complexity-Theoretic Perspective

The ability of a planner to modify a plan is considered as a valuable tool for improving ee-ciency of planning by avoiding the repetition of the same planning eeort. From a computational complexity point of view, however, it is by no means obvious that modifying a plan is com-putationally as easy as planning from scratch if the modiication has to follow the principle of \conservatism," i.e., to...
