چکیده

Energy and Privacy are the two important aspects in the Battery limited wireless sensor networks. Currently adopting hop by hop encryption for privacy preserving protocols are not efficient in terms of the energy and privacy in WSNs because these protocols decrypts and encrypts the data at the aggregator node since the decrypts at every aggregator node consumes more power and it also increases the frequency of the node compromise attack . The proposed privacy conserving protocol adopts the Privacy Homomorphism technique for performing the data aggregation on encrypted data without any significant delays. Hence it reduces the node compromise attack. So there is greater chance of getting meticulous result at the base node with the reduced computation and communication overheads. The protocol used in the proposed scheme for preserving privacy has its applications in the field where time and security are the critical issues such as in the military applications since it ensures privacy, end to end confidentiality, authenticity, data freshness and energy efficiency while performing data aggregation. Our motto is to provide a secure data aggregation scheme which ensures the privacy, authenticity and freshness of individual sensed data as well as the accuracy and confidentiality of the aggregated data without introducing a significant overhead on the energy constrained sensor networks. Keywords— Wireless Sensor Networks; Data Privacy; Data Confidentiality; Authentication; End to end encrypted data Aggregation; Privacy homomorphism; Accuracy; Data Aggregation; Hop by hop encrypted data aggregation; Data Freshness.

A New Data Aggregation Scheme to Support Energy Efficiency and Privacy Preservation for Wireless Sensor Networks

Because a sensor node has limited resources, such as battery capacity, data aggregation techniques have been proposed for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). On the other hand, the provision of efficient data aggregation for preserving data privacy is challenging issue in WSNs. Existing data aggregation methods for preserving data privacy are CPDA, SMART, Twin-Key based method, and GP2S. However, ...

EPSDA: Energy Efficient Privacy preserving Secure Data Aggregation for Wireless Sensor Networks

The privacy preserving data aggregation protocols in wireless sensor networks have many applications in security critical areas, since it hides individual nodes’ data from adversaries. The existing hop by hop and shuffling based privacy preserving protocols does not provide an energy efficient, accurate and secure data aggregation result in base station, due to the energy consuming decryption a...

Computing Aggregation Function Minimum/Maximum using Homomorphic Encryption Schemes in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs)

Data aggregation in wireless sensor networks (WSN) helps eliminate information redundancy and increase the lifetime of the network. When homomorphic encryption is used for data aggregation, end-to-end encryption is achieved and aggregation function like average or minimum/maximum can be computed on the encrypted data. Aggregation functions like minimum/maximum rely on comparison operation. But,...

Separating indexes from data: a distributed scheme for secure database outsourcing

Database outsourcing is an idea to eliminate the burden of database management from organizations. Since data is a critical asset of organizations, preserving its privacy from outside adversary and untrusted server should be warranted. In this paper, we present a distributed scheme based on storing shares of data on different servers and separating indexes from data on a distinct server. Shamir...

Privacy-Preserving Data Aggregation Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey

Many wireless sensor network (WSN) applications require privacy-preserving aggregation of sensor data during transmission from the source nodes to the sink node. In this paper, we explore several existing privacy-preserving data aggregation (PPDA) protocols for WSNs in order to provide some insights on their current status. For this, we evaluate the PPDA protocols on the basis of such metrics a...
