Metadata Management Model for Relational Database Publication on Grid : an Ontology Based Framework

The Grids is emerging as a building infrastructure that support coordinated management and sharing of inter-connected hardware and software resources in distributed environment. Plenty of structured data existing on the grid need to be managed by database such as relational databases. Metadata plays a critical role in grid database integration, so metadata model is put forward which comprises information of data content. Trough the metadata model, the distributed, heterogeneous data resource can be discovered and accessed uniformly and efficiently. This paper discuss a metadata model for relational database which is used for content publication of database on grid. The model is based on ontology framework.
