PPP Over Asynchronous Transfer Mode Adaptation Layer 2 (AAL2)
نویسندگان
چکیده
This specification is intended for those implementations which desire to use the facilities which are defined for PPP, such as the Link Control Protocol, Network-layer Control Protocols, authentication, and compression. These capabilities require a point-to-point relationship between the peers, and are not designed for the multipoint relationships which are available in ATM and other multi-access environments.

Class Extensions for PPP over Asynchronous Transfer Mode Adaptation Layer 2
The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) over Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) Adaptation Layer 2 defines the encapsulation that allows a PPP session to be transported over an ATM virtual circuit using the ATM Adaptation Layer 2 (AAL2) adaptation layer. This document defines a set of class extensions to PPP over AAL2 that implement equivalent functionality to Multi Class Multi Link PPP over a single A...

متن کاملPerformance analysis of wireless ATM/AAL2 over a burst error channel
Recent growth in cellular networks has motivated research on broadband access technologies for the support of diverse services over wireless networks. Wireless Asynchronous Transfer Mode (WATM) has been proposed as a transport solution for next generation wireless and personal communication networks and ATM Adaptation Layer 2 (AAL2) has been identified suitable for the support of low data rate ...
متن کاملAnalytic and Simulation Modeling for AAL2 Connection Admission Control
Fine timescale simulation and analysis are combined with coarse timescale simulation in the design and performance evaluation of connection admission control (CAC) techniques applied to connections that utilize the asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) Adaptation Layer Type 2 (AAL2). Fine timescale (packet-level) simulation and then analytical modeling are used to determine the AAL2-level connection...
متن کاملCATMES - Cellular ATM Evaluation System
During the recent years more and more attention has been focused on the usage of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) in the wireless environment. Third generation mobile network standards like UMTS and IMT-2000 have chosen ATM as a transport technology candidate for terrestial circuits in cellular networks. Why ATM? A prototype system called CATMES, Cellular ATM Evaluation System, was created to i...
