A Case of Dislocation of the Ulna Backwards and the Radius Forwards

چکیده
He found his left elbow dislocated, and the forearm was in a semi-flexed position. He asked a gentleman to pull the arm "straight," as he thought that was the best position for the arm to be in. The gentleman did so, and F. J. D. felt "something" give way in the joint, and a bone appeared to slip forward. On admission, the left arm was almost straight, the elbow much swollen, and he could move it only very slightly. The prominences of the external and internal condyles of the humerus had disappeared; the olecranon process of the ulna was not in a line with the condyles, but about one and a half inch above them posteriorly. On the patient extending his forearm to the full, a sulcus

this is a report of 2 very rare cases of Radio-ulnar dislocation-translocation in children from Kerman SHahid Bahonar haspital.this type of dislocation is very rare and only ten have been reported in the literature including our report of two cases.in this type of dislocation the location of proximal ends of radius & ulna are altered,so that the capitellum articulates with the olecranon and...
متن کاملMonteggia Fracture Dislocation with Ipsilateral Distal Radius - Ulna Fracture in a Child
Background – Monteggia fracture dislocation is proximal ulna fracture with radial head dislocation. We present a rare case of monteggia fracture dislocation Bado type III with ipsilateral distal radius physis injury Salter Harris type II in an eight year old boy. It is to highlight the importance of clinical examination and the need of radiograph one joint above and below the fracture. Case Rep...
متن کاملCOMBINED MONTEGGIA LESION AND ELBOW DISLOCATION
This case is a 19-year-old soldier who suffered a combined elbow dislocation and posterior Monteggia fracture and dislocation (type II). The ulna fracture was managed by ORIF. The elbow dislocation was managed by closed reduction and immobilization in 900 flexion. The posteriorly dislocated radial head was kept reduced by a transarticular pin. After 6 months elbow and forearm motion was restric...
متن کاملPersistent Medial Subluxation of the Ulna with Radiotrochlear Articulation
Two patients-one with a terrible triad fracture dislocation and one with an anterior olecranon fracture dislocation—weretreated for maltracking of the elbow (medial subluxation). The radial head articulated with the lateral trochlea while theulnar trochlear notch was perched over the medial trochlea. The late revision surgery could not correct the subluxationbecause the joints were accustomed t...
متن کاملDislocation of the head of the radius associated with fracture of the upper end of the ulna in children.
Traumatic dislocation of the head of the radius in children may be either an isolated injury or, more commonly, part of a more complex injury to the elbow, such as the Monteggia fracture-dislocation. in that injury the dislocation of the head of the radius is described as anterior or posterior and the fracture of the ulna affects its shaft (Watson-Jones 1956). Wise (1941) reported a case of lat...
