چکیده

We provide an argument that (6) of the main paper is an unbiased estiamting function for ξ when the coarsening probabilities may not be correctly specified, so that the posited probabilities π{r, Gr(Z)} 6 = π0{r, Gr(Z)} for some r = 1, . . . ,M,∞, but the models hr{Gz(Z), ξ} are correct, and that estimators for ξ based on (6) will converge in probability to ξ0 for arbitrary choice of the functions qr {Gr(Z), ξ}. The argument proceeds by a series of iterated conditional expectations to show that (6) has mean zero under these conditions. When r = M , the summand in (6) is

Improved doubly robust estimation when data are monotonely coarsened, with application to longitudinal studies with dropout.

A routine challenge is that of making inference on parameters in a statistical model of interest from longitudinal data subject to dropout, which are a special case of the more general setting of monotonely coarsened data. Considerable recent attention has focused on doubly robust (DR) estimators, which in this context involve positing models for both the missingness (more generally, coarsening...

Doubly robust estimation and causal inference in longitudinal studies with dropout and truncation by death.

Motivated by aging research, we propose an estimator of the effect of a time-varying exposure on an outcome in longitudinal studies with dropout and truncation by death. We use an inverse-probability weighted (IPW) estimator to derive a doubly robust augmented inverse-probability weighted (AIPW) estimator. IPW estimation involves weights for the exposure mechanism, dropout, and mortality; AIPW ...

A Comparative Review of Selection Models in Longitudinal Continuous Response Data with Dropout

Missing values occur in studies of various disciplines such as social sciences, medicine, and economics. The missing mechanism in these studies should be investigated more carefully. In this article, some models, proposed in the literature on longitudinal data with dropout are reviewed and compared. In an applied example it is shown that the selection model of Hausman and Wise (1979, Econometri...

Tracking Interval for Doubly Censored Data with Application of Plasma Droplet Spread Samples

Doubly censoring scheme, which includes left as well as right censored observations, is frequently observed in practical studies. In this paper we introduce a new interval say tracking interval for comparing the two rival models when the data are doubly censored. We obtain the asymptotic properties of maximum likelihood estimator under doubly censored data and drive a statistic for testing the ...
