چکیده

The problem of reconstructing a measurable plane set from its two generalized projections is considered. It means that the projections contain also the effect of a known modification given in the whole plane. This is a more general case than that of a constant absorption within a given material. Via a suitable mapping, this generalized problem can be transformed into the solved case of the classical (nonabsorbed and non-generalized) projections, giving a theorem about the characterization of unique, non-unique, and inconsistent projections analogous to Lorentz’ theorem. The connection between uniqueness and the existence of so-called generalized switching components is discussed.

Reconstruction of measurable plane sets from their two projections taken in arbitrary directions

The problem of the reconstruction of a measurable plane set from two projections is considered when the directions of the projections are arbitrary. Via a suitable &e transformation. the problem can be reduced to the solved c a e of orthogonal projections. The result can also be applied for unknown directions. It is proved that merely a howledge of the projections (i.e. without their directions...

Ultra-Fast Image Reconstruction of Tomosynthesis Mammography Using GPU

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is a technology that creates three dimensional (3D) images of breast tissue. Tomosynthesis mammography detects lesions that are not detectable with other imaging systems. If image reconstruction time is in the order of seconds, we can use Tomosynthesis systems to perform Tomosynthesis-guided Interventional procedures. This research has been designed to study u...

Completeness results for metrized rings and lattices

The Boolean ring $B$ of measurable subsets of the unit interval, modulo sets of measure zero, has proper radical ideals (for example, ${0})$ that are closed under the natural metric, but has no prime ideal closed under that metric; hence closed radical ideals are not, in general, intersections of closed prime ideals. Moreover, $B$ is known to be complete in its metric. Togethe...

Attenuation Correction in SPECT during Image Reconstruction using an Inverse Monte Carlo Method: A Simulation Study

Introduction: The main goal of SPECT imaging is to determine activity distribution inside the organs of the body. However, due to photon attenuation, it is almost impossible to do a quantitative study. In this paper, we suggest a mathematical relationship between activity distribution and its corresponding projections using a transfer matrix. Monte Carlo simulation was used to find a precise tr...
