چکیده

SARNA, S. K., E. E. DANIEL, AND Y.J. KINGMA. Effects ofpartial cuts on gastric electrical control actiuity and its computer model. Am. J. Physiol. 223(Z) : 332-34-O. 1972.-The effects of a variety of partial circumferential and longitudinal cuts of gastric muscle of anesthetized dogs on its electrical control activity and in a gastric computer model are described. The effects of these cuts on the phase lags between proximal and distal control waves and on the entrainment of distal oscillators indicate that the longitudinal coupling is strong near the greater curvature and throughout the antrum. The strength of coupling was assessed by determining the minimum amounts of muscle required to cause phase-locking between proximal and distal oscillators. This coupling is weak on the midline and near the lesser curvature in the body of the stomach. The transverse component of the coupling is strong in the antrum. A comparison of the magnitudes of transverse couplings in the antrum and in the body could not be made. The results of simulated partial cuts in a gastric computer model using similar coupling strengths resembled those observed in the dog stomach. The study adds further support to the contention that an array of bidirectionally coupled relxation oscillators is an appropriate model of the gastric electrical control activity.

Elimination of Hard-Nonlinearities Destructive Effects in Control Systems Using Approximate Techniques

Many of the physical phenomena, like friction, backlash, drag, and etc., which appear in mechanical systems are inherently nonlinear and have destructive effects on the control systems behavior. Generally, they are modeled by hard nonlinearities. In this paper, two different methods are proposed to cope with the effects of hard nonlinearities which exist in friction various models. Simple inver...

Friction Compensation for Dynamic and Static Models Using Nonlinear Adaptive Optimal Technique

Friction is a nonlinear phenomenon which has destructive effects on performance of control systems. To obviate these effects, friction compensation is an effectual solution. In this paper, an adaptive technique is proposed in order to eliminate limit cycles as one of the undesired behaviors due to presence of friction in control systems which happen frequently. The proposed approach works for n...

A NEW FUZZY MORPHOLOGY APPROACH BASED ON THE FUZZY-VALUED GENERALIZED DEMPSTER-SHAFER THEORY

In this paper, a new Fuzzy Morphology (FM) based on the GeneralizedDempster-Shafer Theory (GDST) is proposed. At first, in order to clarify the similarity ofdefinitions between Mathematical Morphology (MM) and Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST),dilation and erosion morphological operations are studied from a different viewpoint. Then, based on this similarity, a FM based on the GDST is proposed. Unlik...

New Strategy of Grid Connected Photovoltaic System Using Module Integrated Converters with B4 Inverter to Overcome Partial Shading Effect

This paper proposes a new configuration for solar energy conversion systems. One challenging issue of the photovoltaic (PV) systems is partial shading, and in this paper Module Integrated Converters (MIC) are used to overcome this problem in PV arrays. A few boost converters are employed as MICs to mitigate the shading effect. Furthermore, to reduce the cost and to increase the system performan...
