چکیده

We present 2 mm, 1.1 mm, 850 μm, 800 μm, and 450 μm mapping and photometry of the field surrounding NGC 6334A. We find a prominent east–west dust ridge, approximately centered on NGC 6334A. We interpret this ridge as a collimating dust disk or torus and derive a mass of ∼60 M from our continuum data. It is possible though, that this disk– like structure is contaminated on the west-side by a protostellar source, seen as an H2O maser. We find a second strong source MM2, near MM1 in the immediate vicinity of the HII region. H13CO J = 4–3 spectra of MM1 and MM2 confirm that it is a separate source. MM2 approximately coincides with IRS3, a 10 μm source, which in earlier studies has been proposed to be a protostar. We estimate MM2/IRS3 to have a mass of ∼50 M . We find two other protostellar candidates: MM3 and MM4. MM3 is a relatively compact source with a mass of 150 M and connected by a ridge of dust to the HII region, while MM4 is is fainter and more extended. We also see a thin shell of dust surrounding the red–shifted ionized outflow lobe, presumably swept up by the outflow. The dust shell has a mass of ∼60 M . There is clearly less dust emission towards the north, and we do not see the same interaction between the ionized outflow and the surrounding molecular cloud as we see to the south.

Continuum emission in NGC 1068 and NGC 3147 : Indications for a turnover in the core spectra ⋆

We present new interferometric observations of the continuum emission at mm wavelengths in the Seyfert galaxies NGC 1068 and NGC 3147. Three mm continuum peaks are detected in NGC 1068, one centered on the core, one associated with the jet and the third one with the counter-jet. This is the first significant detection of the radio jet and counter-jet at mm wavelengths in NGC 1068. While the flu...

Young Stars and Protostellar Cores near NGC 2023

Context. We investigate the young (proto)stellar population in NGC 2023 and the L 1630 molecular cloud bordering the H ii region IC 434, using Spitzer IRAC and MIPS archive data, JCMT SCUBA imaging and spectroscopy as well as targeted BIMA observations of one of the Class 0 protostars, NGC 2023 MM 1. Aims. We study the distribution of gas, dust and young stars in this region to see where stars ...

A cobweb of filaments and protostars

We present high resolution (sub)mm continuum maps obtained with the bolometer UKT14 on the JCMT of the high mass star formation complex NGC 6334 I and I(N), the latter also known as Gezari’s cold source (Gezari 1982). The maps at 1.1 mm and 800 μm cover the whole northern part of the NGC 6334 complex (∼ 5′ × 8′), while the coverage is more limited at 450 μm and 350 μm and centered on NGC 6334 I...

A Hard X-ray Study of Ultraluminous X-ray Source Ngc 5204 X-1 with Nustar and Xmm-newton

We present the results from coordinated X-ray observations of the ultraluminous X-ray source NGC 5204 X-1 performed by NuSTAR and XMM-Newton in early 2013. These observations provide the first detection of NGC 5204 X-1 above 10 keV, extending the broadband coverage to 0.3 − 20 keV. The observations were carried out in two epochs separated by approximately 10 days, and showed little spectral var...
