Non-Perturbative Renormalization Group Approach for Quantum Dissipative Systems

چکیده
We analyze the dissipative quantum tunneling in the Caldeira-Leggett model by the non-perturbative renormalization group method. We classify the dissipation effects by introducing the notion of effective cutoffs. We calculate the localization susceptibility to evaluate the critical dissipation for the quantum-classical transition. Our results are consistent with previous semi-classical arguments, but give considerably larger critical dissipation. PACS numbers: 11.10.Hi, 03.65.-w, 73.40.Gk

A numerical renormalization group approach for calculating the spectrum of a vibronic system occurring in molecules or impurities in insulators
Theoretically, in order to describe the behavior of a spectrum, a mathematical model whichcould predict the spectrum characteristics is needed. Since in this study a Two-state system has beenused like models which was introduced previously past and could couple with the environment, theformer ideas have been extended in this study. we use the second quantized version for writing thisHamiltonian...
متن کاملPerturbative Approach to Calculating the Correlation Function of bi-isotropic Metamaterials
A bi-isotropic magneto-electric metamaterials is modeled by two independent reservoirs. The reservoirs contain a continuum of three dimensional harmonic oscillators, which describe polarizability and magnetizability of the medium. The paper aimed to investigate the effect of electromagnetic field on bi-isotropic. Starting with a total Lagrangian and using Euler-Lagrange equation, researcher cou...
متن کاملThe numerical renormalization group method for quantum impurity systems
In the beginning of the 1970’s, Wilson developed the concept of a fully non-perturbative renormalization group transformation. Applied to the Kondo problem, this numerical renormalization group method (NRG) gave for the first time the full crossover from the high-temperature phase of a free spin to the low-temperature phase of a completely screened spin. The NRG has been later generalized to a ...
متن کاملQuantum magnetic impurities in magnetically ordered systems.
We discuss the problem of a spin 1/2 impurity immersed in a spin S magnetically ordered background. We show that the problem maps onto a generalization of the dissipative two level system with two independent heat baths, associated with the Goldstone modes of the magnet, that couple to different components of the impurity spin operator. Using analytical perturbative renormalization group method...
متن کاملRenormalization-group Investigation of the S = 1 Random Antiferromagnetic Heisenberg Chain
We introduce variants of the Ma-Dasgupta renormalization-group (RG) approach for random quantum spin chains, in which the energy-scale is reduced by decimation built on either perturbative or non-perturbative principles. In one non-perturbative version of the method, we require the exact invariance of the lowest gaps, while in a second class of perturbative Ma-Dasgupta techniques, different dec...
