چکیده

Recent proposals to study the mass of the “electron” neutrino at a sensitivity of 0.3 eV can be used to place limits on the right handed and scalar charged currents at a level which improves on the present experimental limits. Indeed the neglect of the possibility of such interactions can lead to the inference of an incorrect value for the mass, as we illustrate. e-mail [email protected] e-mail [email protected] e-mail: [email protected] e-mail [email protected]

Gravitino constraints on models of neutrino masses and leptogenesis

In the supersymmetric extensions of the standard model, neutrino masses and leptogenesis requires existence of new particles. We point out that if these particles with lepton number violating interactions have standard model gauge interactions, then they may not be created after reheating because of the gravitino problem. This will rule out all existing models of neutrino masses and leptogenesi...

Supersymmetry and Neutrino Masses

Neutrino masses are zero in the minimal supersymmetric standard model. I discuss how they may become nonzero with new interactions which may or may not violate R-parity conservation. ———————– Talk presented at the 6th Corfu Summer Institute on Elementary Particle Physics, 1998.

Neutrino Masses and Anomalous Interactions

The interplay between neutrino masses and the interactions of neutrinos with matter is discussed with an eye to extending the latter to include possible new interactions. This conjecture may resolve the conundrum posed by the present experimental data on neutrino oscillations which suggest the existence of four neutrinos, whereas Z decay and Big Bang Nucleosynthesis allow only three. The case o...

Non-Standard Neutrino Interactions and Neutrino Oscillation Experiments

In analyzing neutrino oscillation experiments it is often assumed that while new physics contributes to neutrino masses, neutrino interactions are given by the Standard Model. We develop a formalism to study new physics effects in neutrino interactions using oscillation experiments. We argue that the notion of branching ratio is not appropriate in this case. We show that a neutrino appearance e...

Neutrino Mass in TeV-Scale New Physics Models

In the standard model of particle physics (SM), neutrinos are regarded as massless particles. However, existence of nonzero masses of neutrinos has been established by a sequence of success of neutrino oscillation measurements [1–6]. If neutrino masses are generated similarly to the other fermion masses via a Yukawa interaction (introducing right-handed neutrinos νR) with the SU(2)L-doublet sca...

Atmospheric Neutrino Oscillations and New Physics

We study the robustness of the determination of the neutrino masses and mixing from the analysis of atmospheric and K2K data under the presence of different forms of phenomenologically allowed new physics in the νμ–ντ sector. We focus on vector and tensor-like new physics interactions which allow us to treat, in a model independent way, effects due to the violation of the equivalence principle,...
