Educating future digitizers: The Illinois Digitization Institute's Basics and Beyond digitization training program

چکیده

Este artículo proporciona una descripción detallada del programa de formación desarrollado por el Illinois Digitization Institute denominado Basics and Beyond. La idea de este programa es ofrecer a las instituciones que conservan materiales del patrimonio cultural, la posibilidad de acceder a diferentes modalidades de formación en digitalización de diversos precios y horas lectivas. La primera modalidad consiste en un taller básico de digitalización de un solo día de duración. La segunda se trata de un curso on line de tres semanas y, finalmente, la tercera combina el curso on line con un taller intensivo de dos días. En el artículo se detallan los contenidos tratados en cada una de las modalidades y finaliza con un apartado de conclusiones donde se analizan los puntos fuertes y débiles tanto de este programa como de otros, incidiendo en la importancia de mejorar los siguientes puntos: 1) Proporcionar más información sobre digitalización de materiales sonoros y audiovisuales; 2) Ampliar la discusión acerca de la preservación de los documentos digitales; 3) Incidir en la necesidad de una financiación permanente para la formación en digitalización del patrimonio nacional
