Effectively Open Real Functions

چکیده

A function f is continuous iff the pre-image f[V ] of any open set V is open again. Dual to this topological property, f is called open iff the image f [U ] of any open set U is open again. Several classical Open Mapping Theorems in Analysis provide a variety of sufficient conditions for openness. By the Main Theorem of Recursive Analysis, computable real functions are necessarily continuous. In fact they admit a well-known characterization in terms of the mapping V 7→ f[V ] being effective: Given a list of open rational balls exhausting V , a Turing Machine can generate a corresponding list for f[V ]. Analogously, effective openness requires the mapping U 7→ f [U ] on open real subsets to be effective. By effectivizing classical Open Mapping Theorems as well as from application of Tarski’s Quantifier Elimination, the present work reveals several rich classes of functions to be effectively open.

Insertion of a gamma-continuous function

A necessary and sufficient condition in terms of lower cut sets are given for the insertion of a $gamma-$continuous function between two comparable real-valued functions.

Effectively Absolute Continuity and Effective Jordan Decomposability

Classically, any absolute continuous real function is of bounded variation and hence can always be expressed as a difference of two increasing continuous functions (socalled Jordan decomposition). The effective version of this result is not true. In this paper we give a sufficient and necessary condition for computable real functions which can be expressed as two computable increasing functions...

On weakly e*-open and weakly e*-closed Functions

The aim of this paper is to introduce and study two new classes of functions called weakly $e^{*}$-open functions and weakly $e^{*}$-closed functions via the concept of $e^{*}$-open set defined by Ekici cite{erd1}. The notions of weakly $e^{*}$-open and weakly $e^{*}$-closed functions are weaker than the notions of weakly $beta$-open and weakly $beta$-closed functions defined by Caldas and Nava...

On weakly eR-open functions

The main goal of this paper is to introduce and study a new class of function via the notions of $e$-$theta$-open sets and $e$-$theta$-closure operator which are defined by Özkoç and Aslım [10] called weakly $eR$-open functions and $e$-$theta$-open functions. Moreover, we investigate not only some of their basic properties but also their relationships with other types of already existing topolo...

Effectively closed sets and graphs of computable real functions

In this paper, we compare the computability and complexity of a continuous real function F with the computability and complexity of the graph G of the function F . A similar analysis will be carried out for functions on subspaces of the real line such as the Cantor space, the Baire space and the unit interval. In particular, we de1ne four basic types of e"ectively closed sets C depending on whe...
