چکیده

When considering a graph problem from a parameterized point of view, the parameter chosen is often the size of an optimal solution of this problem (the “standard” parameter). A natural subject for investigation is what happens when we parameterize such a problem by various other parameters, some of which may be the values of optimal solutions to different problems. Such research is known as parameterized ecology. In this paper, we investigate seven natural vertex problems, along with their respective parameters: α (the size of a maximum independent set), τ (the size of a minimum vertex cover), ω (the size of a maximum clique), χ (the chromatic number), γ (the size of a minimum dominating set), i (the size of a minimum independent dominating set) and ν (the size of a minimum feedback vertex set). We study the parameterized complexity of each of these problems with respect to the standard parameter of the others.

Playing with Parameters: Cross-parameterization in Graphs

When considering a graph problem from a parameterized point of view, the parameter chosen is often the size of an optimal solution of this problem (the “standard”). A natural subject for investigation is what happens when we parameterize such a problem by the size of an optimal solution of a different problem. We provide a framework for doing such analysis. In particular, we investigate seven n...

Detailed analysis of observed antiprotons in cosmic rays

In the present work, the origin of antiprotons observed in cosmic rays (above the atmosphere) is analyzed in details. We have considered the origin of the primaries, (which their interactions with the interstellar medium is one of the most important sources of antiprotons) is a supernova type II then used a diffusion model for their propagation. We have used the latest parameterization for anti...

Electronegativity Equalization Method: Parameterization and Validation for Large Sets of Organic, Organohalogene and Organometal Molecule

The Electronegativity Equalization Method (EEM) is a fast approach for charge calculation. A challenging part of the EEM is the parameterization, which is performed using ab initio charges obtained for a set of molecules. The goal of our work was to perform the EEM parameterization for selected sets of organic, organohalogen and organometal molecules. We have performed the most robust parameter...

Open problems from Workshop on Kernels

Treedepth-d modulator as a parameter Somnath Sikdar The recent kernelization algorithms in very general sparse graph classes such as graphs of bounded expansion use the structural parameter of a constant-treedepth modulator [1]. The parameter seems natural in these graph classes, but we have not yet investigated its full power also in general graphs. What natural problems admit a polynomial ker...
