چکیده

This paper deals with an extension of the classical Resource Constrained Project Scheduling Problem (RCPSP). We present a new type of resource constraints in which staff members are involved. On the one hand, we focus on staff members, each of them having several skills, i.e, is able to perform more than one kind of activity. On the other hand, an activity has specific skill requirements that must be satisfied. To solve this problem, we propose two lower bounds. The first one uses a linear programming scheme proposed for the RCPSP and the second one is based on energetic reasoning. 1. Presentation of the Multi-Skill Project Scheduling Problem The Multi-Skill Project Scheduling Problem (MSPSP) mixes both the classical RCPSP, and the Multi-Purpose Machine model [3], [4]. From the RCPSP, we use the project description, and we add new resource constraints inspired by the Multi-Purpose Machine model. For instance let us consider that resources are staff members having more than one skill, and that each activity needs a "given amount" of skills to be performed. Thus scheduling an activity at time t, requires matching its skill requirements with the skills of the staff members that are available at t. Our goal is to minimize the overall project duration, i.e, min(Cmax). Figure 1 presents a 4-activities and 4-members example with a feasible solution. Table 1.a gives the processing times of actives along with their skill requirements. Table 1.b, describes staff members in terms of skills. Figure 1.a, presents the precedence constraints between activities. Figure 1.b, shows a feasible solution. Figure 1 : Example of Multi-Skill Project Scheduling Problem (MSPSP) In the example above, one can see that activity A3 cannot start at time 2, because it requires 2 programmers, while the available staff members at this time cannot meet this skill requirement (P1 is not a programmer). Modified Pareto archived evolution strategy for the multi-skill project scheduling problem with generalized precedence relations

In this research, we study the multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem, where there are generalized precedence relations between project activities. Workforces are able to perform one or several skills, and their efficiency improves by repeating their skills. For this problem, a mathematical formulation has been proposed that aims to optimize project completion time, reworki...

Modeling and solving multi-skilled resource-constrained project scheduling problem with calendars in fuzzy condition

In this study, we aim to present a new model for the resource-constrained project scheduling problem (RCPSP) considering a working calendar for project members and determined the skill factor of any member using the efficiency concept. For this purpose, the recyclable resources are staff resources where any person with multiple skills can meet the required skills of activities in a given time. ...

Detecting communities of workforces for the multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem: A dandelion solution approach

This paper proposes a new mixed-integer model for the multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem (MSRCPSP). The interactions between workers are represented as undirected networks. Therefore, for each required skill, an undirected network is formed which shows the relations of human resources. In this paper, community detection in networks is used to find the most compatible wo...

Lower Bounds for the Multi-skill Project Scheduling Problem with Hierarchical Levels of Skills

In a Multi-skill Project Scheduling Problem (MSPSP), there is a project, composed of activities, to realize. Each activity has to be done by a subset of staff members, chosen for their abilities to satisfy the needs of activities. In our problem, each person has different skill(s), and a level of ability for each of his skills. It is particularly adapted to modelize what happen in a software de...

Optimization of an energy based bi-objective multi skilled resource investment project scheduling problem

Growing concern in the management of energy due to the increasing energy costs, has forced managers to optimize the amount of energy required to provide products and services. This research integrates an energy-based resource investment project-scheduling problem (RIP) under a multi-skilled structure of the resources. The proposed energy based multi skilled resource investment problem (EB-MSRIP...
