چکیده

We show that the classification of simple finite group schemes over an algebraically closed field reduces to the classification of abstract simple finite groups and of simple restricted Lie algebras in positive characteristic. Both these simple objects have been classified. We review this classification. Finally, we address the problem of determining the infinitesimal deformations of simple finite group schemes.

Deformations of Simple Finite Group Schemes

Simple finite group schemes over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic p 6= 2, 3 have been classified. We consider the problem of determining their infinitesimal deformations. In particular, we compute the infinitesimal deformations of the simple finite group schemes of height one corresponding to the restricted simple Lie algebras.

Simple finite group schemes and their infinitesimal deformations

Infinitesimal Extensions of P and Their Hilbert Schemes

In order to calculate the multiplicity of an isolated rational curve C on a local complete intersection variety X , i.e. the length of the local ring of the Hilbert Scheme of X at [C], it is important to study infinitesimal neighborhoods of the curve in X . This is equivalent to infinitesimal extensions of P by locally free sheaves. In this paper we study infinitesimal extensions of P, determin...

Current Research: Noncommutative Representation Theory

Group actions are ubiquitous in mathematics. To understand a mathematical object, it is often helpful to understand its symmetries as expressed by a group. For example, a group acts on a ring by automorphisms (preserving its structure). Analogously, a Lie algebra acts on a ring by derivations. Unifying these two types of actions are Hopf algebras acting on rings. A Hopf algebra is not only an a...

Amorphic association schemes with negative Latin square-type graphs

Applying results from partial difference sets, quadratic forms, and recent results of Brouwer and Van Dam, we construct the first known amorphic association scheme with negative Latin square type graphs and whose underlying set is a nonelementary abelian 2-group. We give a simple proof of a result of Hamilton that generalizes Brouwer’s result. We use multiple distinct quadratic forms to constru...
