Integration of Discrete Event Simulation Models with Framework-based Business Applications

چکیده
Simulation models and business application software as they are used for decision support in enterprise management are both representations of an enterprises actual operations. This paper describes a unified simulation and application framework where it is possible to represent the entire performance process along a supply chain in a unified business model, improve its performance with discrete event simulation technology, and then generate and implement the corresponding business application software from the same unified model, based on a so-called framework-based application technology which allows implementation of changes derived from simulation analysis with minimal effort and time. This enables a company to optimise not only operational processes such as shopfloor or warehouse operations but also business processes such as planning, order management and scheduling through simulation.

Modeling and Evaluation of Stochastic Discrete-Event Systems with RayLang Formalism
In recent years, formal methods have been used as an important tool for performance evaluation and verification of a wide range of systems. In the view points of engineers and practitioners, however, there are still some major difficulties in using formal methods. In this paper, we introduce a new formal modeling language to fill the gaps between object-oriented programming languages (OOPLs) us...

متن کاملA discrete-event optimization framework for mixed-speed train timetabling problem
Railway scheduling is a complex task of rail operators that involves the generation of a conflict-free train timetable. This paper presents a discrete-event simulation-based optimization approach for solving the train timetabling problem to minimize total weighted unplanned stop time in a hybrid single and double track railway networks. The designed simulation model is used as a platform for ge...
متن کاملOptimal design of supply chain network under uncertainty environment using hybrid analytical and simulation modeling approach
Models that aim to optimize the design of supply chain networks have gained more interest in the supply chain literature. Mixed-integer linear programming and discrete-event simulation are widely used for such an optimization problem. We present a hybrid approach to support decisions for supply chain network design using a combination of analytical and discrete-event simulation models. The prop...
متن کاملA GPU-Based Application Framework Supporting Fast Discrete-Event Simulation
The graphics processing unit (GPU) has evolved into a flexible and powerful processor of relatively low cost, compared to processors used for other available parallel computing systems. The majority of studies using the GPU within the graphics and simulation communities have focused on the use of the GPU for models that are traditionally simulated using regular time increments, whether these in...
