چکیده

We present a Poisson process formulation for studying the association between environmental covariates and recurrent events. The standard methods, which compare the covariate values (at event times) of the individuals having the event with those of the individuals at risk at that time, cannot accommodate environmental covariates, because they are identical for all individuals at risk. We suggest a exible parametric model and a conditional likelihood analysis. We illustrate our method through an analysis of data on multiple hospital admissions for chronic respiratory disease in King County in relation to air pollution indices.

Regression Models for Recurrent Event Data : Parametric Random E ects Modelswith Measurement

Statistical methodology is presented for the statistical analysis of nonlinear measurement error models. Our approach is to provide adjustments for the usual maximum likelihood es-timators, their standard errors and associated signiicance tests in order to account for the presence of measurement error in some of the covariates. We illustrate the technique with a mixed eeects Poisson regression ...

Analysis of multivariate recurrent event data with time-dependent covariates and informative censoring.

Multivariate recurrent event data are usually encountered in many clinical and longitudinal studies in which each study subject may experience multiple recurrent events. For the analysis of such data, most existing approaches have been proposed under the assumption that the censoring times are noninformative, which may not be true especially when the observation of recurrent events is terminate...

Dynamic Frailty and Change Point Models for Recurrent Events Data

Abstract. We present a Bayesian analysis for recurrent events data using a nonhomogeneous mixed Poisson point process with a dynamic subject-specific frailty function and a dynamic baseline intensity func- tion. The dynamic subject-specific frailty employs a dynamic piecewise constant function with a known pre-specified grid and the baseline in- tensity uses an unknown grid for the piecewise ...

Estimation of Count Data using Bivariate Negative Binomial Regression Models

Abstract Negative binomial regression model (NBR) is a popular approach for modeling overdispersed count data with covariates. Several parameterizations have been performed for NBR, and the two well-known models, negative binomial-1 regression model (NBR-1) and negative binomial-2 regression model (NBR-2), have been applied. Another parameterization of NBR is negative binomial-P regression mode...

Joint modeling of recurrent event processes and intermittently observed time-varying binary covariate processes.

When conducting recurrent event data analysis, it is common to assume that the covariate processes are observed throughout the follow-up period. In most applications, however, the values of time-varying covariates are only observed periodically rather than continuously. A popular ad-hoc approach is to carry forward the last observed covariate value until it is measured again. This simple approa...
