Application of Data Mining Technology in Digital Library

With the rapid development of computer technology and network technology, it ushers in a new Internet era characterized by information and knowledge. There is an urgent need for a new generation of technologies and methods to help exploit the treasures of information, and to be refined, so as to become useful knowledge. Data mining is the core part of knowledge discovery. Its techniques and methods have great application space and value in the digital library. Data mining technology can help people to develop vast amounts of information in depth, extract the inherent link of the heterogeneous information to promote the digital library. This paper describes technologies relating with data mining, introduces the process of data mining, illustrates the main features, explores applications of three aspects in the digital library, indicates application meaning, analyzes the key problems of implementation in digital libraries, and finally take a study case on analysis of low utilization readers in Linyi university library by decision tree algorithm.
