چکیده

A system is described that detects high-level events of interest in airborne motion imagery. The system starts by automatically extracting the tracks of movers from the imagery. It then uses tracks combined with context (cultural features, for example) to automatically detect low-level events. High-level events can be defined as patterns of lowlevel events. Exact or partial matches to these patterns of interest can be presented to an operator for further analysis.

Detecting Independently Moving Objects and Their Interactions in Georeferenced Airborne Video

In airborne video, objects are tracked from a moving camera and often imaged at very low resolution. The camera movement makes it difficult to determine whether or not an object is in motion; the low-resolution imagery makes it difficult to classify the objects and their activities. When computable, the object’s georeferenced trajectory contains useful information for the solution of both of th...

Retrieval in Long Surveillance Videos using User-Described Motion & Object Attributes

We present a content-based retrieval method for long surveillance videos in wide-area (Airborne) and near-field (CCTV) imagery. Our goal is to retrieve video segments, with a focus on detecting objects moving on routes, that match user-defined events of interest. The sheer size and remote locations where surveillance videos are acquired necessitates highly compressed representations that are al...

Target-tracking in Flir Imagery Using Mean-shift and Global Motion Compensation

In this paper, we present a new approach for tracking targets in forward-looking infrared (FLIR) imagery taken from an airborne, moving platform. Our tracking approach uses the target intensity and the Gabor response distributions and computes a likelihood measure between the candidate and the model distributions by evaluating the Mean Shift Vector. When the Mean Shift Vector based tracker fail...

Aas 12-083 Three Dimensional Geolocation from Uas Imagery: Investigating an Inverse Structure-from-motion Model

We discuss an inverse approach to Structure-from-Motion that enables the geolocation of an unmanned aerial system using a single, two-dimensional image correlated to a digital surface model. This approach allows the calculation of airborne xyz position coordinates as well as the orientation parameters of omega (ù), phi (ö), and kappa (ê). This theoretical investigation with idealized models see...

Object Tracking and Activity Recognition in Video Acquired Using Mobile Cameras

Due to increasing demand on deployable surveillance systems in recent years, object tracking and activity recognition are receiving considerable attention in the research community. This thesis contributes to both the tracking and the activity recognition components of a surveillance system. In particular, for the tracking component, we propose two different approaches for tracking objects in v...
