چکیده

Abstract. We study transport through a double quantum dot with interdot hopping t, intradot repulsion U and interdot repulsion U ′, using the numerical renormalization group (NRG) method. At half-filling, the conductances in two-terminal series and four-terminal parallel configuration are calculated via two phase shifts for quasi-particles of double quantum dot connected to two noninteracting leads with hybridization strength Γ. For small values of t/Γ and U ′/U , conductance in the two-terminal series configuration is suppressed to almost zero. In this region, plateau of conductance in the four-terminal parallel configuration appears and almost reaches a unitary limit value 4e/h of two conducting modes. For large values of t/Γ or U ′/U , both conductances are suppressed to almost zero. The conductance in the twoterminal series configuration almost reaches a unitary limit value 2e/h only around cross-over regions of electron-configuration in double quantum dot. Through the behavior of the local charge and some thermodynamic quantities, we discuss the relation between transport and electron-configuration.

Interdot Coulomb repulsion effect on the charge transport of parallel double

The charge transport behaviors of parallel double single electron transistors (SETs) are investigated by the Anderson model with two impurity levels. The nonequilibrium Keldysh Green’s technique is used to calculate the current-voltage characteristics of system. For SETs implemented by quantum dots (QDs) embedded into a thin SiO2 layer, the interdot Coulomb repulsion is more important than the ...

Electron Transport through Double Quantum Dots with Interdot Coulomb Repulsion

Electron transport through a system of two quantum dots connected in series is studied theoretically with the use of non-equilibrium Green function formalism based on the equation of motion method. Each dot is described by the one-level Anderson Hamiltonian and interdot Coulomb interactions in the form of the Hubbard-like term are taken into account. The electric current and occupation numbers ...

Negative differential conductivity and population inversion in the double-dot system connected to three terminals

We examine transport and microwave properties of two coupled quantum dots taken in parallel connection to the common left lead and connected to separate leads at their right side. In addition, the area between the left lead and the double-dot structure is threaded by Aharonov-Bohm magnetic flux. We determine the energies and populations of double-dot levels on the microscopic basis taking into ...

Nonlinear Transport through Coupled Double Quantum Dot Systems

We investigate sequential tunneling transport through a semiconductor double quantum dot structure by combining a simple microscopic quantum confinement model with a Mott-Hubbard type correlation model. We calculate nonperturbatively the evolution of the Coulomb blockade oscillations as a function of the interdot barrier conductance, obtaining good qualitative agreement with the experimental da...

Quantum phase transition and underscreened Kondo effect in electron transport through parallel double quantum dots.

We investigate electronic transport through a parallel double quantum dot (DQD) system with strong on-site Coulomb interaction and capacitive interdot coupling. By applying the numerical renormalization group (NRG) method, the ground state of the system and the transmission probability at zero temperature have been obtained. For a system of quantum dots with degenerate energy levels and small i...
