Maxima of the Q-index: abstract graph properties

چکیده
Let q (G) denote the spectral radius of the signless Laplacian matrix of a graph G, also known as the Q-index of G. The aim of this note is to study a general extremal problem: How large can q (G) be when G belongs to an abstract graph property? Even knowing very little about the graph property, this paper shows that useful conclusions about the asymptotics of q (G) can be made, which turn out to be efficient in concrete applications.

متن کاملON THE SZEGED INDEX OF NON-COMMUTATIVE GRAPH OF GENERAL LINEAR GROUP
Let $G$ be a non-abelian group and let $Z(G)$ be the center of $G$. Associate with $G$ there is agraph $Gamma_G$ as follows: Take $Gsetminus Z(G)$ as vertices of$Gamma_G$ and joint two distinct vertices $x$ and $y$ whenever$yxneq yx$. $Gamma_G$ is called the non-commuting graph of $G$. In recent years many interesting works have been done in non-commutative graph of groups. Computing the clique...

Abstract. Let G be a k-degenerate graph of order n. It is well-known that G has no more edges than Sn,k, the join of a complete graph of order k and an independent set of order n−k. In this note, it is shown that Sn,k is extremal for some spectral parameters of G as well. More precisely, letting μ (H) and q (H) denote the largest eigenvalues of the adjacency matrix and the signless Laplacian of...
متن کاملCOMPUTING WIENER INDEX OF HAC5C7[p, q] NANOTUBES BY GAP PROGRAM
The Wiener index of a graph Gis defined as W(G) =1/2[Sum(d(i,j)] over all pair of elements of V(G), where V (G) is the set of vertices of G and d(i, j) is the distance between vertices i and j. In this paper, we give an algorithm by GAP program that can be compute the Wiener index for any graph also we compute the Wiener index of HAC5C7[p, q] and HAC5C6C7[p, q] nanotubes by this program.
متن کاملTwo Types of Geometric–Arithmetic Index of V–phenylenic Nanotube
The concept of geometric-arithmetic indices was introduced in the chemical graph theory. These indices are defined by the following general formula: ( ) 2 ( ) uv E G u v u v Q Q Q Q GA G , where Qu is some quantity that in a unique manner can be associated with the vertex u of graph G. In this paper the exact formula for two types of geometric-arithmetic index of Vphenylenic nanotube ar...
