Autonomous Mobile Construction Robots

چکیده

Many manufacturing companies use autonomous robots to solve a variety of assembly and sorting problems. However, only a few attempts have been made at creating mobile robots capable of autonomously assembling a building or other such structure. The key to this problem is to design a single robot capable of doing the task efficiently and then replicating the core design to create a team of robots. For this purpose I investigated an implementation of a mobile robot based on the Autonomous Robotic Architecture. The control system was initially tested in the Gazebo simulator and then tested on a physical robot. This paper describes the design procedure and the results of a series of experiments that prove that a schema based approach is effective in such a scenario.

Effective Mechatronic Models and Methods for Implementation an Autonomous Soccer Robot

Omni directional mobile robots have been popularly employed in several applications especially in soccer player robots considered in Robocup competitions. However, Omni directional navigation system, Omni-vision system and solenoid kicking mechanism in such mobile robots have not ever been combined. This situation brings the idea of a robot with no head direction into existence, a comprehensi...

Circumventing Robots' Failures by Embracing Their Faults: A Practical Approach to Planning for Autonomous Construction

This paper overviews our application of state-of-the-art automated planning algorithms to real mobile robots performing an autonomous construction task, a domain in which robots are prone to faults. We describe how embracing these faults leads to better representations and smarter planning, allowing robots with limited precision to avoid catastrophic failures and succeed in intricate constructi...
