Design of active bearings for gearbox noise control

چکیده
The idea behind Active Structural Acoustic Control (ASAC) is to actively influence the dynamics of a structure to reduce the radiated sound. In ASAC, the difficulty often lies in finding the relation between the structural vibration and the sound pressure in a certain point. The largest reduction in sound pressure level is not always obtained by reducing the vibration levels of one panel, interference issues have to be taken into account also. In addition, often the vibration energy in the system is redistributed and other panels start radiating more. Therefore, the goal of this research is to act on the structure as close as possible to the noise source so that less transfer paths have to be controlled.
