Cold-adapted variants of influenza virus A. I. Comparison of the genetic properties of ts mutants and five cold-adapted variants of influenza virus A.

چکیده
The genetic properties of seven cold-adapted variants of influenza virus A were compared with those of nine Lfluorouracil (5-FU)-induced ts mutants. The 5-FU mutants had previously been placed into seven complementation-recombination groups; five of the seven cold-adapted variants also had the ts phenotype, and all five were shown to share the group 1 lesion. Three of the cold variants also had additional ts lesions.

Development and Sequence Analysis of a Cold-Adapted Strain of Influenza A/New Caledonia/20/1999(H1N1) Virus
Background and Aims: Vaccination is the most effective method to prevent influenza infection. Among the available vaccines, cold-adapted live-virus vaccines are suitable approach that have been produced and evaluated for recent years in few countries. The goal of this project was to derivate a cold adapted variant of the influenza A/New Caledonia/20/1999(H1N1). Materials and Methods: Influenza ...

A previously described cold-adapted attenuated virus, A/Leningrad/134/17/57 (H2N2), was further modified by 30 additional passages in chicken embryos at 25 degrees C. This virus had a distinct temperature-sensitive (ts) phenotype, grew well in chicken embryos at 25 degrees C, and failed to recombine with reference ts mutants of fowl plague virus containing ts lesions in five genes coding for no...
متن کاملNew Anti-Influenza Agents: Targeting the Virus Entry and Genome Transcription
Introduction: The emergence and spread of the pandemic H1N1 influenza virus in 2009 indicates a limitation in the strategy to control the infection, despite a long-established vaccination programme and approved antivirals. Production the proper vaccine against influenza is difficult due to the genetic recombination of virus in the event of pandemic and co-circulation of drug-resistance variants...

The spread of influenza viruses in multiple bird and mammalian species is a worldwide serious threat to human and animal populations' health and raise major concern for ongoing pandemic in humans. Direct transmission of the avian viruses which have sialic acid specific receptors similar to human influenza viruses are a warning to the emergence of a new mutant strain that is likely to share mole...
