چکیده

A kinetic Ising model is analyzed where spin variables correspond to lattice cells with mobile or immobile particles. Introducing additional restrictions for the flip processes according to the n-spin facilitated kinetic Ising model and using Monte Carlo methods we study the freezing process under the influence of an additional nearest-neighbor interaction. The stretched exponential decay of the auto-correlation function is observed and the exponent γ as well as the relaxation time are determined depending on the activation energy h and the short range coupling J. The magnetization corresponding to the density of immobile particles is found to be the controlling parameter for the dynamic evolution.

Parallel processing : the Ising model and Monte Carlo dynamics

This paper investigates the dynamics of Monte Carlo simulations of the kinetic Ising model involving multi-spin-Rip updating schemes as opposed to the conventional random single-spin-flip updating schemes normally used.

Hybrid asynchronous algorithm for parallel kinetic Monte Carlo simulations of thin film growth

We have generalized and implemented the hybrid asynchronous algorithm, originally proposed for parallel simulations of the spin-flip Ising model, in order to carry out parallel kinetic Monte Carlo (KMC) simulations. The parallel performance has been tested using a simple model of thin-film growth in both 1D and 2D. We also briefly describe how the data collection must be modified as compared to...

Kinetic Ising model in an oscillating field : Finite - size scaling at the dynamic phase transition

We study hysteresis for a two-dimensional, spin-1/2, nearest-neighbor, kinetic Ising ferromagnet in an oscillating field, using Monte Carlo simulations. The period-averaged magnetization is the order parameter for a proposed dynamic phase transition (DPT). To quantify the nature of this transition, we present the first finite-size scaling study of the DPT for this model. Evidence of a diverging...

Analytic Approximations for the Velocity of Field-Driven Ising Interfaces

We present analytic approximations for the field, temperature, and orientation dependences of the interface velocity in a two-dimensional kinetic Ising model in a nonzero field. The model, which has nonconserved order parameter, is useful for ferromagnets, ferroelectrics, and other systems undergoing order-disorder phase transformations driven by a bulk free-energy difference. The Solid-on-Soli...

Universality aspects of the 2d random-bond Ising and 3d Blume-Capel models

We report on large-scale Wang-Landau Monte Carlo simulations of the critical behavior of two spin models in two(2d) and three-dimensions (3d), namely the 2d random-bond Ising model and the pure 3d Blume-Capel model at zero crystal-field coupling. The numerical data we obtain and the relevant finite-size scaling analysis provide clear answers regarding the universality aspects of both models. In...
