Performance Evaluation of SFR Scheme in Long-Term Evolution - Advanced Networks

چکیده
In this paper we focus our studies on LTE, which is a development under 3G technologies Release-8 of the 3GPP Project plan and is considered a baseline and step towards the LTE-Advanced. In orthogonal frequency division multiplexing networks, inter-cell interference results in poor performance, especially universal frequency reuse scheme has already been used. Soft Frequency Reuse (SFR) scheme, one of the most promising inter-cell interference coordination (ICIC) schemes, has been introduced in LTE-Advanced networks. In this paper, we develop an analytical queuing model for the SFR scheme taking into account the features of SFR scheme and its impact on system performance firstly. Then, we improve the iterative algorithm called successive over-relaxation (SOR) to solve the set of linear equations and get the steady state probability distribution. Finally, performance analysis shows that maximum number of resource that cell-edge users can use and the number of cell-edge users correlate with the performance of SFR scheme.

A Multiband Multiple-input Multiple-output Antenna System for Long Term Evolution and Wireless Local Area Networks Handsets
A novel multiband multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system is proposed. The MIMO antenna system consists of two antenna elements, each of which comprises of three radiators: a driven monopole, an S-shaped strip and an inverted F-shaped strip and occupies footprint of 15x18.5x0.8 mm3 only. The driven monopole acts as a quarter-wave monopole and stimulate higher mode resonance. The tw...

متن کاملMultichannel analysis of soft frequency reuse and user association in two-tier heterogeneous cellular networks
The cell range expansion (CRE) is encouraged to be applied in the heterogeneous cellular networks (HCNs), to enhance the capacity by offloading macro users to small cells. However, the enhanced inter-cell interference coordination (eICIC) techniques are supposed to be used for mitigating the strong cross-tier interference suffered by the offloaded users and small cell edge users. To address thi...
متن کاملLong-term Planning of Optimal Placement of Distribution Transformers to Improve Reliability and Power Quality with the Approach of Reducing Costs and Losses
One of the most critical and complex issues in long-term planning of distribution networks is the optimal placement of distribution transformers. In this paper, the optimal placement of distribution transformers was investigated based on a complete and multi-objective function. In the proposed method, location, optimal capacity, and the service area are determined by minimizing costs (investmen...

The Intercell Interference (ICI) problem is one of the main challenges in Long Term Evolution (LTE) downlink system. In order to deal with the ICI problem, this paper proposes a joint resource block and transmit power allocation scheme in LTE downlink networks. The proposed scheme is implemented in three phases: (1) the priority of users is calculated based on interference level, Quality of Ser...
