0 CP 1 model with Hopf interaction : The quantum theory

چکیده
The CP 1 model with Hopf interaction is quantised following the Batalin-Tyutin (BT) prescription. In this scheme, extra BT fields are introduced which allow for the existence of only commuting first-class constraints. Explicit expression for the quantum correction to the expectation value of the energy density in the physical sector of this model is derived. The result shows that in the particular operator ordering that we have chosen to work with, the quantum effect has a divergent contribution of O(¯ h 2) in the energy expectation value. But, interestingly the Hopf term, though topological in nature, can have a finite O(¯ h) contribution to energy density in the homotopically nontrivial topological sector. Finally, the extended Lagrangian incorporating the BT auxiliary fields is computed in the conventional framework of BRST formalism exploiting Faddeev-Popov technique of path integral method.

متن کاملRicci Flow, Quantum Mechanics and Gravity
It has been argued that, underlying any given quantum–mechanical model, there exists at least one deterministic system that reproduces, after prequantisation, the given quantum dynamics. For a quantum mechanics with a complex d–dimensional Hilbert space, the Lie group SU(d) represents classical canonical transformations on the projective space CP of quantum states. Let R stand for the Ricci flo...
متن کاملSelective Binding of Cyclic Nanopeptide with Halides and Ion Pairs; a DFT-D3 Study
In this article, theoretical studies on the selective complexation of the halide ions (F¯, Cl¯ and Br¯) and ion pairs (Na+F¯, Na+Cl¯ and Na+Br¯) with the cyclic nano-hexapeptide (CP) composed of L-proline have been performed in the gas phase. In order to calculate the dispersion interaction energies of the CP and ions, DFT-D3 calculations at the M05-2X-D3/6-31G(d) level was employed. Based on t...
متن کاملHamiltonian Formulation of Quantum Hall Skyrmions with Hopf Term
We study the nonrelativistic nonlinear sigma model with Hopf term in this paper. This is an important issue because of its relation to the currently interesting studies in skyrmions in quantum Hall systems. We perform the Hamiltonian analysis of this system in CP 1 variables. When the coefficient of the Hopf term becomes zero we get the Landau-Lifshitz description of the ferromagnets. The addit...
